Such a fantastic job with the cel-shading. Looks effin beautiful, and so authentically like a 2d fighting game, and like an anime during the cutscenes. Also a testament to how flexible Unreal Engine is.

Yeah totally. That's why every Microsoft developed or published XBox game ever came out for PC, right? Oh wait. I meant none since the early 360 days. My mistake

resolution only doesn't matter when it's the PS4 that has the higher resolution. I mean isn't that what all the 'does resolution really matter' and 'can you really see the difference' articles were about?

Also, this game looks god-awful. Should be 4k with them graphics.

Whoa, this ugly game was only 720p? Holy crap.

Honestly, if you look through my comment history, I'm pretty unbiased. I think Sony is a better company policywise, at least until the new management finishes cleaning up Ballmer and Mattrick's mess, but I had no problem saying DriveClub looked boring, or that Sunset Overdrive, Forza 2, or MarioKart Wii-U look great graphically.

This game honestly looks like crap. The 2d arcade version looks better overall. There's no excuse for this not to look at least like t...

Graphics look decent for a Vita game.

Also, Sabrewulf's fur is a cute nod to Viva Piñata

The visuals are lovely, and I'm a sucker for highly saturated color palettes done right, which these most certainly are.

I honestly thought this game would be much faster and more frantic, though. There's like a rocket train chase at the beginning, and it looks like they're driving in a school zone. Then when the girl first jumps to the ground, there's a sluggish recovery, and then some sluggish running and sluggish combat.

Just a little bit...

So many memories. I think the beginning of the death of arcades was the dreamcast. This was the first time when the home console looked as good as or better than the arcade in every instance. Playstation was the first nail in the coffin, and now that online gaming is so ubiquitous that was one of the last things an arcade had over home consoles, which was being able to play with or against strangers in the absence of friends when and where you wanted to play.

I think arca...

Slow news day.
I think they mean XBL friends, and it even says 'once you get some friends,', meaning it's assumed you will. It would have been bad if it said 'if you even get some friends,'

@volkama, the art of coaxing GPUs to do CPU work is still relatively young and lacking in abundant qualified devs in the pool (not people who can just program gpu's, but people who are awesome at it). This is similar to procedurally creating assets, where after spore, you'd think there'd be tons of games using procedural aspects, but there's been barely any. That's why these techniques have been around so long, and there's barely any games that use them. I mean, yo...

Star Citizen is aimed at High End PCs specifically:

@hennessey86 a Titan is like more than one generation of power past the consoles. Consoles allow developers to spend time optimizing, but a top of the line PC is so powerful it more than compensates for the lack of to the metal coding several times over.

DirectX and OpenGL make all the diffe...

I have to say Ubisoft has gone from sounding stupid with their 'please don't argue' parity reasoning, to just bizarre. Are they really that out of touch, and really that clueless about everything? Much like low resolution, 30fps can mask imperfections and help bridge uncanny valley, but that just means that at higher framerates and resolutions, art and animation need to be at a higher standard to look realistic (if that's what you're going for)

The indus...

Yes. Sitting there lying down like a fool just to defend your favorite publisher or console company is only progressively going to mess up our past-time. It's never ok to gimp a game, whether to leave more for DLC, for some big corp cash on the side, or to 'avoid debate'.

Awesome. Not a big Grid fan, but the sooner more AAA well-known games get on VR and it becomes an expected feature where possible, the better.

crash, daxter, sackboy, spyro are the only actual cute mascot games I can think of off the top of my head, and they all sold well indeed. Almost any other game that didn't sell well was because they were trying to make a cute mascot and failed miserably. Some artist who isn't a connoisseur of cuteness was hired to try and come up with something, rather than it spontaneously emerging from the rainbow kingdom in their soul, and it comes out ugly and corrupted. none of those count.
