You do realize it's possible for a company to come up with it's own original ideas right? They can make a different game than last year, without piggybacking on another game's recent success, by stealing the art direction and gameplay elements.
EDIT: At your comment below. Yes, they should come up with a whole new original idea. I know it's scary and difficult, but all fps's about modern warfare have been played out for a loooooooooooooooooong time. N...
"Just wait until Titanfall comes out. Then you'll see the gap start closing."
Not sure. I think I heard once that Microsoft makes some operating system and office software that no one's heard of.
Glad I wasn't the only one who noticed. Of course they don't mind, they clearly don't place any value in originality.
"Has Microsoft gotten the best out of Rare? That is very much up for debate. "
Nothing's up for debate. It's pretty much consensus that they completely neutered and ruined Rare in the most idiotic and shameful way possible.
Well, I think it's just fabulous.
you're kinda pathetic, huh?
So.... Buying an engine most famous for its ease in cross-platform development, and which can already make Wii u games will benefit them how again?
Wow, did they pass the wii-u that fast? Impressive considering how successful and record breaking wii-u has been, sales-wise
If only it were true. Unfortunately, pachter is talking out of his ass
lol. Anyone who played the old Killer Instinct would know they ruined it.
Fable was ruined to begin with.
They drove Bungie away.
And they completely ruined Rare, which is now an empty rotting husk where greatness once stood.
good job proving my point for me.
EDIT: @Naga, spoken like a true MSFT fan, so because every COD sold so many copies in your mind makes it gaming nirvana? Sales figures do not a great...
Notch already said he's bailing as part of the deal. Smart move. Now Microsoft can ruin it like they do with every game-related acquisition, and Notch can either retire, or make any game he wants including a big budget game with money leftover.
say the interactive movie devs
(most likely hoping for at least an 8 for graphics alone themselves)
Yeah, all PC gamers are super talented 3d artists. Jelly?
Also, getting on people for their fantasies? I suppose you've never rubbed one out? Some people are into crazy warrior chics, and demon gals, and mage elves, or whatever. Not sure about where you live, but in my area those are all in short supply.
good job having no idea what you're talking about. Uncharted 4 doesn't look better than Star Citizen (neither of which have been released), and Order doesn't look as good as Uncharted.
The rest of everything you said was spoken like someone who's never touched a real PC, so your ignorance shines through loud and clear.
Now that PS4 and XBox One are powerful enough to make things look pretty, they won't hold PC back as uncontrollably as ...
I'm a programmer as well, and Personman is exactly right.
I'd also like to add though, that if developers targeted gaming PC's more often, last gen consoles would have fallen far further behind than they did by the end of the generation.
This list sucks and most entries just explain the backs Tory rather than describe anything annoying about the character
@dcj0524 - so are they going to abandon the players on the last gen consoles for the next game?
I knew they were misguided the minute I saw they were going to compromise the graphics on their 10 year game - so it could release on the last gen consoles that would be almost completely phased out in the first year or two of the game's release.
It does look awesome.
I hope their next game is more along the lines of Motorstorm, though. Not exactly like that, but I've always love fantasy driving games like that or Wipeout much more than standard realistic racers. They usually don't get this obsessive level of detail like this though, so it'd be interesting to see impossible vehicles with realistic detail.
