At least Demon / Dark souls did the constant right. I also think MindJack had an interesting take on the DS way, but they just couldn't get it right.

I guess this person never heard of the expression "Less is more".

Sadly, there are a number of problems that can happen by over-saturating the market with multiplayer modes.

1) These are resources being wasted. I don't think anyone would argue that the resources used to make the online for Dead Space 2 or Lost Planet 3 could have been better spent on almost anything else.
2) Most online modes are a ticking bomb. Like if your game sold...

It COULD in theory work as a visual novel. Maybe supplement the story with making meth gameplay (how attentive you're affects the quality), perhaps make some ricin, things like this, though I think it would be a rather shameless cash grab.

Honestly... it would make absolutely no sense for it to be true.

You're talking about a game that was announced at E3 (I believe), to be the first PS Plus retail game on the PS4 being delayed OUT OF NOWHERE from a no name site. For this to even make sense, Sony would have to announce the delay, make it work, change whatever props / signage they did to not include Drive Club, change out the first retail Plus game or possibly not include one for the first month in the span...

"Back at the Ps1 days a AAA only costed around 5 millions. Today ? Pfffft..."

Yes, but that is hardly a fair comparison. Like a lot of PS1 games were pretty short (like Parappa only had 6 stages. One of which was a bonus...) and a number of other elements have changed.

Online multiplayer.
More advanced gameplay = more R&D required to make the game perfect.
Marketing. Remember, gaming use to be a fairly niche thing that didn'...

"Though it is kinda disgusting how Ubisoft can do this a month away from launch(In america, UK has to wait till the 29th)..."

Ubisoft was in a catch 22 situation and people need to understand and respect this.

Option 1) You get a version of the game they think needs roughly 6 months of work before releasing it. This not only means the games value will be less, but it's impossible to say if you would even WANT it as is.
Option 2) The ga...

@ GiggMan

Considering it was never an official bundle... they would have shipped the system and then the game.

While there are a lot of legitimate claims, that is not one of them.

The thing is, that element is true in all forms of "art" and shouldn't instantly make games less so. Sure, some games are designed to make a profit, but this is no different than an artist making something they think will sell, a movie being written with global appeal in mind, books featuring popular elements (like vampires at the moment) or music simply mirroring what other people are doing. ...

It is digitally in Europe, but the game looks awful and makes me wonder why such a conditional cross-buy game is listed among the best. Additionally, I don't recall Limbo being a cross-buy game.

"People needs to stop listening to so called gaming journalist."

No one did, which was sort of the problem in this case. The game was always divided, though many people seem to forget this. From the first reveal to the demo, we saw many conflicting opinions from both big and small sites, so this is not another Declassified where pretty much everyone thought it was a lock for "system seller' then died horribly on the battlefield.

"EDIT: Gaming is not just about shooting people and such you know... "

As I've mentioned in other topics... why do fans (even Cage did it) of this game complain about shooters? Disliking this game doesn't instantly mean you love shooters or even like shooters... it just sounds like instead of accepting that their opinion is different, you choose to belittle others by claiming everyone wants nothing more than the next CoD / Battlefield.

First off, Beyond: Two Souls was hardly hyped in the first place. It had advertisements, people talking about it, but it's not like Pokemon where a picture of a Mega Pokemon could get you 100+ degrees like nothing on N4G. Sony put in about as much (arguably less) effort than even PlayStation All-Stars, so unless you're suggesting paying for commercials is "overhyping", then it really wasn't.

The problem with Beyond: Two Souls is that many people wanted ...

I really wish people had a better terms for Demon / Dark Souls than difficult. The game just forces you to think before you do and learn from your mistakes. It's actually pretty fair if you can do both of those. Now when you compare it to a hard game like Ninja Gaiden, you can know exactly what is going to happen, how its going to happen and still die 20 times.

It's green... so does that mean it's eco friendly when they get thrown in the landfill?

Sadly, I feel the need to note that I am joking.

In theory, yes, but not in practice. Simply being better doesn't instantly mean that companies will follow suit or that it will be remotely successful. This has appeared throughout game history and isn't likely to change.

Back in the Gameboy days, Sega released the GameGear, which was fully capable of using a rechargeable battery, back lit screen and color. It wasn't till AFTER the GameBoy Advance released that Nintendo started to match these features.

At least street dates make a little more sense than say region locking (there are so few people interested in doing this that it's fairly moot to begin with).

The point of them is to simply make things "fair" for everyone else. However, a lot of people forget that there are two types of dates. There are street dates, which are designed to make it fair for "all". Like if I could go to Sears and get Pokemon on Tuesday versus Saturday, then a lot of peop...

"Too much FPS in the head, that's whats wrong."

Why is the hate always directed at the FPS community with this game? I can't say this is my favorite community or the best community, but I can't see them caring about Beyond: Two Souls, so why must everything be directed at them negatively?
