There is a fundamental difference in Sony's entertainment strategy and Microsoft's. Sony builds devices that provide entertainment in various ways, with various platforms. Microsoft has NEVER acknowledged the root cause of RROD. There are various theories behind it, but without confirmation, that's all they are...theories. There is one constant though, 360s RROD. Arcades, Pros, Elites and Halo editions. This will no doubt help prolong the life, however. An improvement is an improvement.
If you hadn't noticed, the 360 isn't moving the consoles to play the games. If you don't expand your install base, you don't have MORE people to buy MORE software. See Sony and Nintendo.
