but that is utter bollocks. I'd elaborate, but why even bother? It's clear as the sun in the sky: if the script, voice-acting and direction is up to snuff then a cut-scene will bring the player deeper into the action and make him care more for the characters.

Give me a well-executed cut-scene over the Half Life/Bioshock aesthetic any day of the week. At least Infinite has you actually controlling a protagonist with personality this time; not just a disembodied pa...

There are more, but that's my top 10 for now. Next year is looking so great, just as long as nothing gets delayed again!

Can't believe I used to like that band when I was younger. 'My Sacrifice' will always be a bit of a tune though.

...

Felt dirty writing that.

Best Xbox 360 Game

Batman: Arkham City
Forza Motorsport 4
Gears of War 3
Portal 2

Best PS3 Game

inFamous 2
Killzone 3
LittleBigPlanet 2
Uncharted 3

Are you seriously telling me that the 360 didn't even have enough worthy exclusive titles to fill out all 4 selections in its own category?! That speaks volumes man, come on. Get your s**t together Microsoft.

Maybe this time it won't be a hoax and my brittle heart won't be shattered into a million tiny pieces again.

How plausible is it for the protag to clamber up a pyramid, then dive off the peak into a haystack below?

Is such a thing even possible? No it isn't!

Logistically it just doesn't work: pyramids aren't vertical or steep monuments, so whoever our hero is, he's just going to break his neck halfway down the pyramid when he aims for the cart full of hay below.

Ancient Egypt doesn't seem feasible. But what would work is ...

after complaining about the paycheck he got for his role in IV. Anyway, I hope Niko isn't in this new installment too much; dude was far too downcast and angst-ridden for the GTA universe.

The sequel is incredible as well. Wish the little fella wasn't such commercial poison so that we could get a third game, current-gen style.

I've been on the fence a long time about getting Skyward Sword, but this review has helped me make up my mind. Too many of the criticisms inherent in this piece ring true, and remind me of my experiences with Twilight Princess, a game I felt obliged to pick up along with the Wii at launch day, but did not enjoy come the end credits.

Besides the control issues, this critic makes note that there are too many fetch quests and repeated backtracking through previously explo...

My favourite parts of the game were all the puzzle rooms funnily enough. Those quiet moments where you're scanning the environment and looking for clues while Sully stands idly by, contemplating another cigar to light up. Some of those puzzles were really inventive. Made me long for the golden age of the point 'n' click adventure games made during the 90's again.

Knew it wouldn't bode well for the final product. Oh well, there's always the next Hot Pursuit game by Criterion in 2012 (hopefully).

but that's a downgrade from the scores typical of 2 and Brotherhood. Maybe Ubisoft should stop milking the franchise with spin-offs now and focus on a different time period and protagonist with installment number 3.

plus he looked the most normal/least retarded out of the lot. Everyone else either had a vacant cross-eyed expression on their face, a terrible complexion or whiskers...and I sure as hell ain't playing as someone who's got whiskers. No one would take me seriously. I want to embark on epic quests; not curl up on my masters lap and play around with balls of yarn.

Soooooo...

no LittleBigPlanet 2, no Yakuza 3/4, no Flower. These are glaring omissions here people. How can you not have LBP2 anywhere on that list, yet include New Vegas in the top 10. Bizzaro shiznit right there.

Should have Mirror's Edge on their list too.
