In breaking news, gamer realises that maybe some people don’t like certain games, yet that’s still okay. More at 11
Just before I dive into the rest of your comment, I want to note that Sony’s exclusives are on a whole other level, and Microsoft can’t compete with their sheer consistency of quality. Completely agree there.
As for the rest:
“Gears of War 4 microtransactions”
yeah these were/are shocking.
“Were there any like that in Uncharted 4?”
I’m not sure if your question is “were there any microstransactions...
Agreed on cut content - but the differences here are a bit odd.
Every airport is in the game no matter what version you buy, but the version you buy dictates how many are hand crafted. This impacts the level of detail, but doesn’t change the game.
The number of planes is a fair cop because that’s different gameplay that’s being impacted between versions. That kind of thing seems to be becoming more of a worrying trend these days, which sucks
@TheProblem
From your first comment:
It has more 8/10 scores than any other single score on metacritic though. Doesn't seem that bad to me, and neither does 68/100 as a score (let's be real, it's pretty much 7/10).
Scores from the 22 current reviews:
9/10 - x2
8.5/10 - x2
8/10 - x6
7.5/10 - x2
7/10 - x4
6/10 - x1

"makes it seem like this is a place for fanboys. It's not though"
Did you really just say that and then try to list the 3 most ridiculous fanboy-driven suggestions I've ever seen on this site?
Are you actually suggesting that - universally - nobody likes Xbox and the media is only pretending that people like it so they can get clicks?
"Phil Spencer has already come out and said he doesn't care if this console ...
“Who is going to use this on their phone?”
People on lunch breaks at work? Holidays? Car trips where they’re the passenger? On the bus or train? People who own a PlayStation but not an Xbox and don’t want to buy one? Hell, *anyone* that doesn’t own an Xbox but does own a phone.
“Who is going to carry a controller around with them?”
A. People who plan to play it. By that logic, no one plays the Switch outside their home because “hardly a...
I love the art style. Their graphics didn’t look like a game that had been in development for 5 years.
Just look at their Slipspace engine trailer, which had the same art style but great graphics - that was the expectation
@r2oB
“You left out the last part of the quote which was “but it is ultimately the right move”. That sounds like the author is defending the decision and trying to make this out to be a good thing”
Obviously this was referring to Halo, not the Xbox brand.
As you mentioned, a delay doesn’t automatically make a good game, but the fact is it would have been awful to launch infinite in the state it’s in, so for many that’s an improvement by...
Super fair comment, and I agree with pretty much everything.
I don’t expect them to say something like “our game looks bad, so it is what it is”, but man they were writing blog posts the week before the demo talking about how they poured their heart and soul in to make it a graphical showcase - then what they showed was anything but.
It had to be delayed, but I’m shocked that the decision only came after the public saw it and freaked out. It’s very worryi...
“Halo Infinite’s delay is a setback for Microsoft in the short term for both its flagship franchise and its Xbox Series X console launch”
What about this says that MS isn’t in trouble? That’s in the description, didn’t even have to click the article to see that bit.
Majority of opinions I’ve seen across N4G, Reddit and other forums have been remarkably similar - that it needed the delay (because it looks shit), but it’s bad news for the Series X and MS. R...
Yeah this sucks, i still play the hot wheels expansion with my kid, RIP
I think they would be more out of touch if they didn’t delay it, the game absolutely isn’t in a state to launch this year
“What happened to the “it was an earlier build” argument?”
What tricks?
343 came out and said it wasn’t, not much to be confused about - he thought it was until they said it wasn’t.
It being delayed is good news for everyone (except for the Series X launch, RIP their heavy hitter), even for people were defending it at the time
I haven’t played it myself or watched any gameplay, but
“These enemies will kill you if you aren’t careful”
Shouldn’t that just be... standard? Like the bare minimum? Though I don’t know if that says more about the game or the state of games being made
Don’t worry, I’m ready for everyone who was happy with SpiderMan exclusivity to also defend this. /s
And if they condemn it, then that tells you a lot about when exclusivity is ‘okay’.
We’ll see how the game shapes up, but it’s not sounding promising
I’m not sure why you’re acting like this is a ‘gotcha’ to MS - they’re literally making it so you can do that. This isn’t some shady workaround that you’re exploiting, that’s very explicitly what they want - and encourage - you to do
@Christopher
“ But it would only be downloadable via the Apple store, which is the equivalent of being on the Windows store”
I don’t think it’s apples for apples here - using your example, MS has released a slew of their 1st party games outside the Windows Store in the last year or so (MCC, Sea of Thieves, Grounded, etc all released on Steam).
Not necessarily disagreeing with you, just adding more context
Yeah but you have to own a PS4 to do that.
With this you don’t need to own an Xbox
@Sunny
Didn’t stop devs from not using the touch pad on PS4, or the full rumble trigger tech on Xbox One
There’s more to the game than how it looks, same with every other game - that’s like saying that you can watch a play through of God of War and have the same experience as the person who’s playing it
