@ Breakfast,
MGS4 and KZ2 aren't even possible on the Xbox 360 in the state they are in right now on the Playstation 3. Killzone 2 will be using 4 and a half cores in the PS3 as stated by Guerrilla, does the Xbox 360 even have 4 cores... nope. Try again, keep dreaming and keep on spinning.
If MGS4 does come to the 360 (highly doubt it will) it will definantly be the inferior version that's for sure.
Guerrilla is 1st party Sony developer Breakfast and Kil...
People are disagreeing with you because you basically implied that LBP isn't GOTY material.
Several major video game sites gave LBP the "Game of the Show" Award at E3 and that's a big deal because if LBP could win Game of the Show E3 Awards, then surely it is a top contender for GOTY.
"Lack of variety in environments confirmed!"
I am so sick and tired of people complaining about lack of environments or lack of color in KZ2.
Killzone 2's setting wasn't meant to be full of color because the game takes place on Helghan. Killzone 2 is like an urban battleground/wasteland. If Killzone 2 was full of colors and there was a f*cking rainbow in the background with butterflys or something you wouldn't get that "gritty" feel to the game. ...
That trailer got much even more hyped for Killzone 2.
There was a new weapon revealed in this trailer... some kind of lightning gun and that Robot at the end looked like it might be a Boss. February 2009 couldn't come soon enough!
Just 2 months after the Holiday rush PS3 owners get yet another Blockbuster exclusive, oh hell yea!
I would like to think that Bungie will go multiplatform, but I think that Bungie will be like Insomniac and remain independant while developing for one platform/company.
But, if Bungie DID go multiplatform, I think that it would be bigger news than FFXIII, Tekken 6, and GTA going multiplatform combined because a Bungie game on the PS3 would be MEGATON.
"Any game without co-op is pointless waste of time. "
Sorry, but to me any game that doesn't have a good story is a waste of time.
Every game wasn't meant to have Co-op and there's different strokes for different folks. I'm more of a Single Player gamer, so I enjoy games that are Single Player only.
Plus, some of the most groundbreaking/ acclaimed games had no Co-op or Online at all ( God of War series, Shadow of the Colossus, ICO, Final Fantas...
To me Dead Space wasn't really that scary, but nearly the entire game is filled with very tense moments.
The part in Dead Space where I was really scared was in Chapter 8 or 9 I think when you had to work your way through a room of Sliding Doors/Panels ( it was something like a puzzle) and after working your way through and reaching another area that Enemy that just keeps Regenerating over and over again after you shoot off his legs or arms broke out of his Glass Chamber and then...
I think that the PS3 version has slightly darker colors than the 360 version does. From 1:50- 1:55 when the guy was adjusting the watch, to me the watch dial looked a bit more darker on the PS3 and the watch on the 360 version had a slightly lighter dial.
Also in that same scene when he's adjusting the watch, the guy's hands/fingers look slightly darker on the PS3 than 360 to me. But, both versions look good regardless.
The only games I'm getting on that list is LBP and Fallout 3. Dead Space was on the list, but I got that when it first came out and still have it (and loved it.)
At first I wasn't really even looking forward to Prince of Persia at all, but something about it just looks intriguing. If Prince of Persia gets good review scores, I'll get it though.
Mirrors Edge defiantly looks unique, but I'm a little iffy on that game.
In addition to LBP and Fallout 3, Moto...
Well, even though the 360 has picked up some steam in Europe since the price cuts, the Playstation 3 has been a pretty dominate factor over there for some time, but I am really surprised that so much of Ubisoft's profits came from Europe though.
I'm trying to think of a reason why Ubisoft made more money from PS3 sales when games usually sell more on the 360 and the only thing I can think of is that PS3 owners HAVE to purchase a game if they want it, but there are a lot of people...
I seriously don't see what's the big issue over madantory installs because it's not like EVERY PS3 game has an install.
I've still got the hard drive that came in my launch 60GB PS3 and I've got around 25GB left and that's plenty of space for several more games.
Developers probably could just allow the PS3 version of a game to have MUCH longer load times, but these developers know that they can resort to a Install if they want because they know that ALL PS3 owners ha...
After watching that video I'm SO glad that you can move around when Zooming In while you are Sniping because in Killzone 1 you couldn't even move from side to side while Sniping in Zoom.
It seems like Killzone 2 will be the first game that will greatly separate the Xbox 360 and PS3 when it comes to graphical capabilities and just sheer power.
The PS3 is going to start off 2009 with a bang with KZ2 no doubt.
I'm getting both the Fallout 3 and Resistance 2 Collectors Edition and already have them on pre-order, but I like what comes with the Resistance 2 Collectors Edition a little more.
Everyone already knows that Bioshock 2 is going to be multiplatform, but I'm more interested in whether or not it will be yet another timed 360 exclusive or if it will be a simultaneous release.
It's not just Sony, Samsung is going through a similiar situation, but I don't know if Samsung's situation is as bad as Sony's.
I watched the NBC Nightly News at 6:30 just this evening and both Sony and Samsung has reported that fewer people around the world are buying their electroincs, and now there's talks about a global recession. Times are tough for a lot of companies now, not just Sony.
There's one other Xbox 360 exclusive left....Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts.... little ol' Banjo will be next on the chopping block by PS fans in retaliation to the Resistance 2 low user reviews by 360 fans. LOL.
Yeah, I know what you mean because in Uncharted, there was just ONE part in the entire game where you used the Sixaxis to balance across a log and after that it wasn't used again to balance across anything else.
But like in my post below, I think that the Sixaxis controls for throwing grenades in Uncharted was utilized well and I used it all the time with ease.
The Sixaxis controls are good when implemented the right way.
In Uncharted Drakes Fortune, to throw grenades, I think that the Sixaxis controls were used very well for that and it was very easy to use as soon as I got used to it.
I think that the Sixaxis controls was implemented well in Heavenly Sword to control the direction of thrown objects, arrows and cannon balls too... and of course the Sixaxis was optional in both Uncharted and Heavenly Sword.
But...
As far as the PS3 price goes, I think that the PS3 has already sold astronomically well this year so far at the $399 and $499 price points, and I expect great things from the PS3 this Fall in sales.
Honestly, I think that the 80GB PS3 makes the Xbox 360 Elite at $399 look WAY overpriced because the Elite has: NO Built in Wifi, NO Blu-ray, NO Web browser, and then before you can play online against someone you have to subscribe to Xbox Live. The PS3's price is easily justifiable. ...
