I'm glad to see less shovelware and more quality titles. Sooner or later the Wii mote would wear out it's wow factor.
There are no limitations. Any and all games are possible as a download on PSN/Xbox Live.
Really the 360 price drop and Gears were the only two things to give 360 a last minute lead in '08. Before that the PS3 was outselling 360 all year.
Let's face it. Bungie's Halo and Microsoft's Gears of War were in competition with each other. Halo was considered a flagship title until Gears came along. They were both shooters and Microsoft obviously placed Gears of War in higher esteem. I honestly think Bungie wasn't getting any benefits by staying exclusive to a console who wasn't supporting them.
I don't understand why Blu-Ray is not seen as a storage format. The PS1 used Cds and it happened to play music. The PS2 used DVDs which happened to play movies. These were BONUS FEATURES to an already used gaming format. I don't see how Blu-Ray is any different. And don't say uneeded storage space because DVD started out the same way: Perceived as not needed.
I can't wait until 3D Blu-Ray games and movies start coming in. I'm waiting for HD-audio receivers to lower in price.
Probably because Halo is a 360 GAME!
I agree and the article is in no way a bash toward either console or game. I'm really suprised it's getting such a negative response. Doesn't anyone read these before they judge them?
Games are only killed if the memory fades away. Just like people, games exist only if people remember them.
I have a 500GB external HDD with a 200GB PS3.
It's easier to see Sony's accomplishments when paying attention. Most people don't even realize all the great stuff the PS3 gave us in half the time.
To me he's saying that calling Killzone 2 a Halo killer will only make Killzone 2 look bad. That's all.
It's his opinion but he should post it here. I've actually seen people in some forums try to disrespect Halo and say Killzone 2 will kill it. Honestly, I think Killzone 2 will match it in different ways.
They said doom would get killed for a long time. It never happened and the issue died out. I think after awhile people just don't care about it getting killed or not.
Honestly, for some members who get involved in a decent conversation, it sucks not being able to continue it.
Don't forget Sony started the fiscal year with a 240 loss and ended it with a 45.00 loss. The 1.7 billion doesn't reflect the final effect of a 45.00 loss throughout the entire year.
Thanks for the info. I still find it harder to scrape around for NPD numbers. Do these places get worldwide figures?
This isn't the source but I read a research companies assessment on Sony's PS3 manufacturing costs. News media made their own articles based on that data. The exact amount was 45.00 in Dec'08 which may hint an upcoming price drop of the PS3.

Furthermore, the PS3 can sell a billion consoles and still report a loss at the end of the year. Why? Because they are ...
Please share the sources you use outside of:
1)NPD
2)Vgchartz
I would like to know how to obtain worldwide sales figures. NPD is private and very hard to obtain data from. Please provide so other gamers can find the truth.
The PS3 alone has more titles than I can possibly afford this year. The Wii as well. 360 comes last this year...so far. We will be broke that's for sure.
