Eh, I was destined to own all the plastic boxes this Gen anyways, just a matter of time—I just hope the game turns out better for being exclusive. Bethesda having to get that beast running on PlayStation hardware too would have taken another 6 months to complete and/or take away some polish, two things any gamer anticipating Starfield doesn’t want.
Nobody can compete with Nintendo, you want to talk about exclusives?
“Last” but they have the deepest pockets, this isn’t a gaming company at heart, and it shows.
They better launch that new Xbox the right way then. Like, the complete opposite of how they launched the Series—no lesser console handcuffed to it the more powerful one, and actually have your franchise games ready to go and polished to a shine. If they pull off that, and have some real exclusives to launch with it, like Elder Scrolls, then they have a shot.
Getting paid more to do less work, who could resist
I guess both companies saw Starfield as a potential system seller and generational defining exclusive and both wanted it, M$ just bought up the whole tent to go with it.
You gotta think, if both companies saw this game’s potential and wanted it that badly, it truly is going to be a special game….just too bad it’s 30fps lol.
He’s right, 30fps is not competitive
Bethesda saying, “It ain’t our fault” wonder what the release date would have been if they had to finish a PS5 and PS4 version too? Might not have released this Gen lol. COD releases every year.
Yeah hard to be excited about Sega’s legacy catalog getting…the Xbox treatment. Halo Collection was their own greatest hit and even that launch was botched, can’t wait to see them give the Zero F’s given million dollar handshake release treatment for old Sega gems. Please no.
This should play well in court for Activision.
Hoping for Far Cry 5 or NFS Unbound, something worth playing that runs well on PS5 would be nice.
I’m guessing it’ll be from a FPS dip into the mid 20’s when I can’t line up a head shot because the game turns into a slide show after a grenade goes off.
Nope. They make money-Xbox net revenue was 18 billion last year. That’s a fact. You’re right though, revenue and profit are not the same (revenue was 52 Billion) but if you think they are in this business for PR or to not turn a profit you’re a fool.
Hopefully they learned from the Series launch that this is what’s needed. Smartest thing they could do.
Oh, and make it 60fps.
This game is so well made it’s ridiculous, haven’t even started the DLC I’m still too busy cleaning up side quests. RIP and this will surely throw the thirds story for a loop
Sega lost the console wars. Xbox is just in last and still laughing to the bank, no need to defend a company or feel bad for them.
Given a choice it’s 60/performance mode every time. 30 fps would not be so bad if it was a rock solid 30.
It’s the dips below 30 that have me worried
That cinematic feel…reminds me fondly of PS2 games and inputs not even registering. Looking at you Shadow of the Colossus.
It will be interesting to see sales data on console, more likely you’ll see, “X million players downloaded” stat instead of sales numbers.
Taking away the used market helps them sell more copies. Pretty shady.
Great month for me, been wanting to play COD lately and this will mean tons of new players to snipe. I never played Alan Wake so that’s just gravy
