So the evidence against it being Title Fight is that the studio wouldn't be bothered to go all the way to London? Seriously? The Olympics aren't far off, maybe they're using that to promote the game. That's just one possible reason among many.
What's pokemon's history got anything to do with it? There were never any direct sequels in the past but this time was the exception so any patterns from past games aren't necessarily meaningful here. Also, how on earth will this push a lot of 3DS systems? If anything it'll push the DS XL systems more considering the experience will be better than on the 3DS.
the mascots just look ridiculous now, much prefer their normal forms. I'm also pretty disappointed that it's not on the 3DS, it would have been really interesting to see what they could have done with the hardware boost. Having said that, it is the first direct sequel in the entire series so I'm pretty excited. Hopefully they'll manage to throw in some of the older regions along with some new places since it would be pretty boring to go over the same places as the previous gam...

The reason why you get games with better "performance" towards the end of the console cycle is because the developers have had more time perfecting their engines, and until now the consoles have had 5/6 year life cycles. As you said, the PS3 will have longer, so for all you know, SE will make a game after VS13 which beats it graphically, and hence rendering your prediction useless.
Having said that, I still think that VS13 will be released in 2012, it's develop...

X released on the 2nd year of the PS2, and saying that they were the best games on their systems is completely subjective, what about the people who consider VII/VIII to be the best on the PS1?
I doubt SE care about your mathematic predictions, they care more about developing other games before Versus and eventually taking your money off your hands.
I'm more interested in the possible 3rd party characters they may add. Ezio from AC? Isaac from Dead Space? Big Daddy from Bioshock? Mercer/Heller from Prototype? Batman?
