Internet goes down for more than 1 day or you have to move, voila, no more offline games until you get it back up. Want to loan your friends one of your games? Tough. Want to rent a game? Nope. Sell on ebay? Sorry not happening.
Nothing Earth shattering at all.
no, it's not obvious at all. For one thing, the PS4 isn't going to be bundled with anything that is anywhere near the price of the Kinect. Cheaper price + no DRM = easy win for the PS4. Awesome exclusives is pretty much a given anyway.
So a LBP copy then
I hate these teases!
Who said anything about 100% certainty? With the news that has come to light, you would be stupid not to consider the possibility. As for kinect turning off, MS themselves have said that they can change their policies as they see fit. Once millions of sheep have paid to have this device in their homes and MS changes their T&Cs, do you think people would just throw out their devices? Hell, how many people do you think actually know that Kinect can be switched off?
No they won't get the message, the only message they will get is that the console isn't selling as well as they hoped. From that they could draw the conclusion that it's due to pricing, or lack of games, or due to competition, or poor marketing, or the state of the economy, or whatever. If the PS4 doesn't have any of the DRM nonsense and it destroys the X1 in sales, then MS may start to look down and see the bullet hole in its foot.
It's going to take a lot more than timed-exclusive DLC and exclusive features that no one cares about to balance out the shitstorm they have just created.
MS is beyond redemption with the shit they've pulled.
Or he could have just, you know, answered it once then ignored the further questions? Honestly, how much effort would ignoring it have taken? Instead he decided to be a dick by insulting a portion of his fanbase, some of whom could have been kids, how could you not fault that.
But how would that work with their system? What's stopping me taking a friend's game which has been published by MS and installing it on my hard drive to play forever if MS aren't going to charge a fee to activate it?
I doubt them announcing something will significantly impact sales. TLOU is probably one of the most highly reviewed and anticipated games this generation and ND teasing a game which has nothing to do with TLOU on a different system isn't going to change that.
In what way is he "defending his project"?
He sounds like a dick, especially considering he is swearing at people who are interested in his characters.
So I guess this is Sweden's answer to the Daily Mail.
Wouldn't really call it "highly anticipated". Probably get it once it hits the bargain bucket.
How exactly is that an "unfair" upper hand for the enemy? It adds to the difficulty of the game and there is no use calling some gameplay features which make it more difficult unfair. I'm guessing the clicker's ability to insta-kill you is unfair too? Or how the crafting and healing is done in real-time? Many of the gameplay features are intended to complement the story in adding realism, and the aiming is no different, so why is that a negative?
The AI in ...
By poor combat control, are you talking him referring to the poor aiming? If so then that was intentional on the developer's part. Joel was never meant to be an expert marksman and the aiming provides that realism, besides, based on other reviews the aiming seems to be improved with upgrades later on. With the occasional poor AI, he admitted that was more nitpicking so I wouldn't really class it as a genuine reason.
The score doesn't match up to the review. He mentions a lot of major positives and the negatives seem relatively minor in comparison, with the reviewer himself admitting that he was nitpicking. He also mentions that at times he felt horrible making certain decisions and masks that as a negative, but surely given the setting and the realism that the game is trying to enforce, that should be considered a positive. If the reviewer actually put forward some genuine reasons for the score then ...
If this was MS I'd be questioning why they were bringing games out on the PS4, PS3 and Vita.
Cell + Blu-ray player = obviously going to be expensive
Even though the components are pretty standard, the kinect was obviously going to bump up the price, still don't think it's justified though, especially if you're living in the UK.
