I just had to laugh at this. Here I was thinking MS was the king of BS.
Why was it odd that it's landing on the X1 instead of the WiiU? The WiiU isn't in the same league tech-wise to the X1/PS4. The game would be severely gimped, if it had to go multi-platform anyway then X1 was clearly the best choice in terms of the quality of the end-product.
Why activision?
Even if Sony bans DRM from 3rd parties, they would be stupid to release their games as X1 exclusive and essentially lose half (probably more) of their potential buyers just because they feel like throwing a little tantrum.
@vakarian75: MGS5 has already been confirmed to be coming to the PS3, FFXV has never been stated to come out on MS' platforms, if it wasn't exclusive MS would have used the money from their bottomless pockets to secure that announcement since that would have been a major blow to Sony.
If you still think the same thing after hearing what Tretton said again and being unable to read between the lines as well as failing to read the articles which say the same thing, then I have no use arguing with an imbecile.
@Mike, stop using that stupid argument, there's a difference in expectations between physical products and digital products. It may become a digital product once it installs but you're also left with the physical product itself which in any other industry you should be able to freely resell.
@XFistsClenchedX: with that feature it was obvious that some sort of DRM was needed, but for many people the benefits of such a feature can't even come close to the downsides...
No used game restrictions, no stupid periodic authentication, FFXV, KH3, The Order, loads of indies. What are you talking about?
PS+ is on a different level to XBL in terms of value
It sucks I'll be honest, but I was planning on getting PS+ anyway for the PS3/Vita/PS4 instant game collection, so not too bad.
Awesome news for DRM, but from Tretton's wording, it seems you'll need PS+ to play online, he said that without PS+ you still be able to enjoy SINGLE player games
