That's most likely true. Although, people would still be upset by lack of multiplayer.
I'm also kind of glad they're being critical. I'd rather they give this AND Gears a hard time, instead of neither.
I appreciate that someone is willing to write about this in length, but there's no equivalency between the 80's crash and the current indie renaissance.
Towerfall, Velocity 2X, Rogue Legacy, The Swapper, Transistor, Sportsfriends--these aren't exactly E.T. They're highly acclaimed games, and there are many of these exactly because Sony, Microsoft and crowdfunders are willing to absorb risk. And btw, the author has confused Adelman's statements. It's ...
I hope that discussion they're talking about leads somewhere. Head-on collisions into turns really needs to be punished harder.
Pretty damn good article.
1998 is a candidate for the best year in gaming of all time in my book.
In defense of the game, I've played the Gamescom build on PS4 and it looks much more like the first picture.
Can't say I cared much for the gameplay, though. We'll see.
Not sure where you got the second picture, but quite clearly there's more happening there than just hardware. The color palette is off.
So shameless pandering just hit new heights (lows?) today. Remarkably from a site that was already among the worst offenders.

I'd... down vote.
How on God's green earth is CNN liberal propaganda? How are they even liberal?
I'd consider myself both a liberal and an occasional CNN viewer, and I have not once done anything but shake my head watching that channel. Are they relentlessly corporate? Sure. Is their target audience the richest 0.1%? You know it. Are they, however, liberal? I would not know how that would be even possible.
I mean, 80% of their programming isn't even opinionated. I...
@Silent
I thought as much, but Indiana Jones as Nathan Drake seems too perfect not to do everywhere. Oh, well. Maybe he can voice Han Solo in the Japanese dub.
@xer0
To be fair, the original comment had nothing to do with censorship. You can criticize expressions without criticizing freedom of speech.
Are women being treated unfairly in video games? Some part of me doesn't really care (probably...), but I guess it'd be nice for there to be more than three decent female protagonists.
@SolidStoner
You can already vote! You just click on the name of the website.
Other than that, you have some point.
He apparently starred in a Japanese ad for Uncharted 3.

That's Indiana Jones playing Uncharted! Why on earth didn't they use that in the west.
Other than that, I unfortunately can't seem to find anything he's done related to video games.
I know someone who sounds a lot like Harrison Ford!
Harrison Ford!
I mean, why not?
To avoid spending all my bubbles, I'll address most of you here:
@DragonKnight
There are some good Top 10 lists. Gamesradar put a lot of work into theirs. However, I absolutely agree that the crappier ones are generally not worth approving.
@thorstein
I saw that text. The tendency is that articles that are critical of games the community favor tend to get harder punishments. The text your linking to isn't the worst I've ever seen...
You can kind of do that with sites by downvoting them. If they get a bad enough rating, they no longer appear on the front page.
I was going to comment on how almost all of these games would be multiplatform, but then I realised that, hey! Here's another terrible site with advertisements splashed all over it and one page per sentence. In fact, ads are so intrusive you can barely see the site! And then I realized that this does not at all belong on N4G, because it's not about video games, it's about ads -- and games are simply the bait.
@uth11
We've had net neutrality since the dawn of the Internet, and so has every other country. Only difference is that it's being taken away to give cable companies even more power.
First of all, Sony sucks at making platformers? Well, a history of Jak & Daxter, Ratchet & Clank, Sly Cooper (to which, inFamous is very similar), Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Ape Escape or LittleBigPlanet for that matter -- all of which are top rated platforming franchises -- would disagree.
Have you ever played LittleBigPlanet? I almost think it's safe to assume that the answer is no. You can literally play replicas of Super Mario Bros, there. So calling it dull is k...
I can't comment on PS Now, but I think we can all unite in our mutual hatred for cable companies.

That's very true! And another thing to be said for Mario Kart is that is that it has couch co-op at all. This generation has been surprisingly bad at that, after the last generation was starting to pick up the pace.
Yeah, those are some examples of Nintendo doing precisely that! Absorbing risk. Bayonetta 2 might not have happened without Nintendo, so all applause to Nintendo for doing that. They should do it more.
Needless to say, absorbing risk doesn't mean "burn your money".
"Wii U is at least selling". What kind of argument is that? PS Vita is also at least selling. They're selling little compared to the competition, is the relevant point....
