Stop by that table you're bound to walk past, if I remember correctly?
I think a lot of PlayStation's identity is trying new stuff and taking risks. Of the five games you mentioned, three are new IPs and Second Son and Shadow Fall changed the formulas their franchises are known for. There is of course also LBP3 which got a 79.
It's also worth mentioning that's it's not long since Sony released game of the years winners like Journey and The Last of Us (also new IPs). There's no reason to write them off after a couple of hits ...
I didn't see all of it, but does it drop once?
That blue line looks stuck on the 30 line like glue to the nose of a drug user on a budget.
It felt that way during gameplay too. In fact, it almost felt like it was smoother than 30fps.
Let's take that to its logical extreme. So if it's trying to achieve to be the worst game ever, but turns out to be pretty awesome, I have to give a 1/10? Doesn't make sense. If you find something good about the game that the developer didn't intend, then that should be ignored?
Playing a game without pre-conceived notions is of course the ideal, but then you're just giving a subjective opinion without pre-conceived notions. It has nothing to do with objec...
What is an objectively good game?
The definition of a review is an opinion, so "objective review" is not as much feasible as it is an oxymoron.
There are some things that almost everyone agrees are bad, like choppy frame rates. But for a game like The Order, how do you decide whether or not QTEs are a good thing or if the story is exciting? It all comes down to opinion.
As Nonridr said, it's both. For me it was a 9/10 experience, but then again I don't really mind that it's short or that there's no multiplayer. Others weigh things very differently.
You're scratching your head over QTEs? I find they're in plenty store driven games (The Walking Dead, for instance). It's not like this game is that comparable to the Witcher.
I agree on 3 and 4, but I don't recall hearing anything about a downgrade. By most measures I'd say it looks much better now than in the first trailers.
And that easter egg the writer is referring to is awesome. That's something to look forward to.
@Nitrowolf2
Good thing they added water later on or we'd never see an end to this meme.
I think we can expect everything between 5 and 10. It's going to be very polarizing, much like Heavy Rain was. Overall, I think reviews will be good.
Woo! Apparently you can double chain stuff. There's a chain between one of the barrels and the car and then another one between the two barrels. That and graphics alone is enough to validate a new sequel.
Hope they get better voice actors this time around, though.

If there's one gripe I have with either one of these, it's that Forza's interior sound is very close to their exterior sound.
I believe this is what I said earlier. I must be God.
I love how the Pokémon review is being held up as a universal example of nitpicking and illegitimate arguments.
People will say things like "Of course there's water and many water Pokémon. It's set in an island region"
Yeah. It being set to an island region is part of the problem then, according to the reviewer.
Never mind that having a Pikachu makes you overpowered through 80% of the game, this game's ficti...
Now, I don't know a lot about corporate management, but those three arrows going up seem like a good sign.
Depends on the magazine. Some publications have inflated their scores to the point where a good game gets at least 8/10. Others see 8 as "great". I'm not familiar with this one.
@Re-versed
Most reviewers don't tell you what you should or shouldn't like. They tell you what they like, and explain why. Through reviews I can often figure out if I'm gonna like the game myself or not. Not always, but fairly often.
And it's ok to not be able to string together sentences, but if you're gonna call people idiots for no reason, you should at least have your grammar in order.
@subtenko
It's going to be released sooner or later if there's demand for it. That goes for Half-Life 3 too.
It also, unfortunately, was the case for Duke Nukem Forever and Too Human. Let's just hope The Last Guardian doesn't end up sucking.
@formerXboxgamer
Whichever reviewer you trust. For me, it's Gamesradar and Gamereactor. Sometimes I like to check the Metacritic score too.
Holy. Not only will the PS4 probably be fine without The Order (Bloodborne coming up pretty soon, long list of upcoming software), but are we really preparing that much for The Order to fail?
Here's something I'm 99% sure of: It's not gonna fail. I've been skeptical before, but people will see. Sackboy only stars in good games.
