People should probably do their math before disagreeing with that.

Destiny bad the biggest release worldwide of any new IP, and it's made by Bungie – a studio that due to drawing inspiration from japanese anime, are actually very popular in Japan.

Cod and GTA are two of the biggest established franchises in the world.

The Last of Us was a smash hit world wide, universally acclaimed by critics and rewarded with several game of the year awards.

Isn't it possible to do well, ...

What I thought made it above average:
Atmosphere, weapons, sound and graphics, story (we disagree on that), background story, music, pacing (minus the end), voice acting, fluid transitions between gameplay and cut-scenes

I sure didn't. I bought Professory Layton and the Miracle Mask separately. I already had a 2DS.

Impressive! I got one too. Not with Zelda, though.

Wooooaaaaaw, I didn't realise Zelda could still pull this many people. Where were those people when Ocarina of Time released on 3DS?

Did new 3DS launch this week too?

Of course it doesn't, but it does mean that games like Castle Story can stay unfinished forever and still somehow be published on the store.

There's a reason companies like Nintendo and Sony adopted quality control in the first place. So the good games would be highlighted and the consumer wouldn't have to maneuver a minefield.

Between AC Unity and Battlefield, I feel there's enough unfinished games as is. I don't have to buy those games e...

Please, Sony, never do early access. Consoles to me, is where I can go and play games that work. No driver install, no optimizing setting and no in- and uninstalling mods to play online with a friend.

I like early access, but there's something about it that just fits PC better in my view.

We also know what happens under net neutrality, seeing how we've had it since the inception of the Internet.

Just for fun, how is net neutrality a regulated monopoly?

4127d ago 9 agree3 disagreeView comment

The consequences will be that the Internet stays the same. Right-wing and mainstream media have consistently misreported that fact. We've only been without net neutrality for a couple of months, and during that time Comcast, AT&T and Verizon have gone Corleone on popular websites.

Who wants this petition? It's the biggest dissonance ever put on paper. "Let's reconcile as soon as you guys admit all fault".

And when VG247 disagrees with the petition, then they are for that reason added to the list of sites that engage in inflammatory, yellow journalism.

This is weak sauce made writing. It's a petition to shut people up, masquerading as a peace offer.

I think we all need to cool down, but people in gaming have different opinions, and people outside gaming are going to misinterpret what's going on here. The Law and Order episode was terrible, and I think we'd all love for the press to calm this issue down, but frankly, from all I've seen – Kotaku and Polygon are the last people to fault in this. And when VG247 say they disagree with this petition and that causes them to literally be added to it, then that's just indicative o...

I think what you wrote is pretty obviously unreasonable to everyone, so I'll just double down on the conclusion:

I might not have bought PS4 for dynamic themes, the share features, YouTube, Netflix, party chats, or the option to connect my earphones to the controller – but I'm sure glad they're all there – and if they were ever advertised – they should be. Many people are buying the PS4, and in my eyes it's a pretty damn good console, but...

@DragonKnight

If you hear anyone say that they bought PS4 for suspend/resume, then you can counter them when it happens. No one has said it here yet.

The point in the article is very simple: Promises should be upheld.

You don't excuse the lack of a feature by pointing to other times people did false advertising. With that attitude, why would console developers ever deliver on any minor features? I didn't buy PS4 for dynamic themes e...

The story of King Arthur's knight order doesn't extend to 1886, so the franchise has already gone beyond the limits of the original folklore. Now that they've entered well into the time of the British Empire (which extends to Sydney, among other cities) and the time ...

Obviously, no one is buying PS4 primarily because of suspend/resume. Nor is anyone buying it primarily because of the fancy lightbar, the ability to edit videos or being able to upload videos to YouTube. But where do we set the foot down and say "Hey, it's not okay to lie about these things". Only when it comes to the ability to play video games? Hell no.

The little features aren't strictly speaking necessary, but they make th...

To be super duper fair, there kind of is a suspend resume feature. Games are suspended when you do more demanding things like watch Netflix (it even says so in the menu). Then they resume from where you left off.

However, that's beside the point and you're absolutely right.
