It doesn’t top out at 1440p max at all! Its been explained quite clearly. It will run games at 4K if the games are designed to run at 4K on the series S or scaled down to 1440p if required. It’s devs decision based on the type of game they are developing.

They’re not stupid, these things have to pass through dozens of people before it gets a pass. As with all of these things that receive backlash for devs being lazy, the point of their laziness is to gauge how lazy they can get away with being therefore how little money they need to spend.

No not exaggerating, as I said I have the same card but with an i5 cpu. I game with maxed out settings @1440p if RT is off it’ll max out at my monitors 144hz limit (I have it locked so it doesn’t waste resources creating extra frames) if I’ve got RT on it’ll run my games at 100+FPS.
So I have a lower end cpu than you but am pushing twice as many pixels. If your system is struggling at 1080p then there’s something wrong with your system.

You game at 1080p why on earth would you need to replace your 2070 super. Your current card is overkill. Why would you waste even more money.
I’m gutted because I’ve not long had my 2070 super but I game at higher resolutions. You’re wasting your 2070 super at that resolution. You must be running max settings at easily 200+ FPS. You can’t physically feel/see anything past 120fps so anything more is just a waste.
Buy a better monitor you’ll appreciate it...

For a quick example I’ve just run BFV. I have everything maxed out @2K (1440p) RT enabled. Hit on average 107fps.
So the question is, is 4K worth it?
Battlefield V, COD MW, Control, Metro Exodus. In fact the only one that runs below that is Quake because it’s fully ray traced, although it’s come along and runs much better since it first released.

Epic gave it away free on their store. Honestly I’ve not played a massive amount of it because of my backlog of games. What I did play surprised me tho in a good way.
I’m pretty sure they confirmed it awhile ago as 4k60fps or at least “aiming for”.
@Seraphim They’re just ROMS running on an emulator. Nintendo have done literally nothing. So yes $20 each is incredibly expensive!
