None of these reviews mention that you can’t actually store PS5 games on an external HDD to copy to the SSD when you want to play. You have to physically download the games from scratch.
Pretty massive omission by Sony. Explains why they’ve been so tight lipped As it would obviously effect pre orders. Having storage capacity for 3 games and no available storage upgrade option. It’s pretty dead in the water. Feel sorry for people unaware of this on metered internet connecti...
So apparently Sony are now releasing statements that external HDD will not allow storage of PS5 games at all. So you can’t store them and copy across when needed, you have to fully redone load each time!
I’ve already heard it takes 10 mins to copy games from ext hdd to internal SSD so not sure about this. But it was a statement made by an official Sony rep. So god knows what’s going on over there!
There's talk in the grapevine that there already is a new Dead Space in development. Possibly been in development for a year already...
I'm looking forward to the next Battlefield though. I believe the next Dead Space may have the original team working on it. So if that is a thing I'm well up for that too!
“indeed, its only uphill from here.“
...not sure you understand how hills work..
I have a gaming PC that I run in this configuration. That’s why I can understand it as a best route for consoles to go down.
People automatically assume because you want this resolution your console gaming on a monitor and I’m not. We’ve seen with PS4 that 1440p can do great checkerboarding to 4K TVs. Why not do an advanced version of that for PS5 and smash it out the park with all the bells and whistles attached too!
Completely agree the first film was a phenomenon. Absolutely awesome at the time. It felt so fresh and new, nothing like anything else and was genuinely a great film and being scary while keeping it completely psychological. Then questioning if it was real to some extent or not.
Haven’t seen the newest version because I didn’t want to tarnish my love for the first or let any of the earlier games. Just played the new game through Epics free give away and I’m having a great t...
Is it just me or is the most exciting thing above all (including the silly storage), the 3D audio!
I can’t wait for super binaural to be the norm and less of a gimmick/one trick pony.
So stupid!
In my opinion the entire system should run at 1440p with every bell and whistle turned right up to max along with the frame rate. Then either downscaled to 1080p sets or upscale DLSS style to 4K.
If it wasn’t for all this stupid native pixel counting crap. We could of had the best of both worlds.
Surprised how good this game is after getting it through Epic free games.
Like most horror games/films, critics usually just like to pan them in the media unless they’re a cheese fest to take the fear out of it. Must be a macho thing. Seem to remember it got scored pretty low across the board in reviews. Glad I’ve given it a go now tho.
Had no idea about the binaural sound. Genuinely freaked me out. Had to keep taking my headphones off as I thought they w...
Apparently it still takes almost 10 mins to copy a new, average sized game from an external HDD to the PS5’s internal SSD.
...so again, good luck with that!
So the leak of 665gb storage was true. Anyone remember what other details were in that leak, I seem to remember there was quite a few?
The storage capacity in both these next gen consoles is a complete joke!
Wow that’s pretty impressive!
Let’s hope it’s similar to the PS5.
This is such a weird site. Throughout the whole video the guy praises how good the controller seems then makes one tiny comment about a known fault with the old controller and everyone jumps on it to declare there’s never been a problem and he doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
Despite Sony in the past publicly issuing a global press release that they would replace them free of charge whether in warranty or not. If they had any of the common faults - Drifting, peeling th...
...What???
Play on PC!... There you go, no frame rate issues, play the game as it was meant to be played. No worries, no tinfoil hats, no framerate drops caused intentionally by the game to make you think you've lost control.
Save yourself the headache!
Imagine being a gaming journalist and having a potato for a PC....

I’m assuming it’s really poorly optimised then?
From memory I think it was a either a Sucker Punch dev talk about GoT or Santa Monica talk about GoW but it was fairly recently.
When you think about it it’s obvious really as you can sometimes see LOD details increase when you zoom right in that you don’t see when not zoomed in because they’re actually not there. The engine doesn’t render it usually because there’s no real need as you wouldn’t see it. Remove all other assets and processes and it allows the engine to fill i...
Actually it does improve what the game looks like. I was surprised as well but during a dev talk they explained photo mode does provide more resources through the SDK to improve image quality.
I was surprised and kind of not at the same time.
I would say this was more likely done to appease pro streamers and competition players. Disability accessibility was just PR spin.
What’s interesting is the video seems to show that your consoles must be linked to your account. So I’m assuming you won’t be able to download PS+ content for PS5 until you’ve registered your PS5 to your account.
No. To anyone who isn't a fanboy, we can all acknowledge that the PS5 has been the most shrouded, secretive console release ever. The general public was not aware that they would only be able to install maybe 3-4 games to the PS5 before it was full to capacity. Then there would be no upgrade options until later (when we have no idea). In the meantime you have to completely delete and re-download your games from scratch if you want to play more. When there eventually is upgrade options they...
