Visuals, visuals, visuals. It's all Crytek seem to ever be able to talk about. Their games suck in every department but the visuals, can we please just forget about Crytek? They're contributing nothing to videogames but superficiality.

1080i/p and 60fps are BOTH unmistakable when you see them, how could they not be?

However, IT DOESN'T MATTER. We don't NEED either of those things to make good games.

Oh it's actually smaller than I thought it was judging by that picture.

Yeah, Ubisoft games are like the new EA games. EA games ALL had like the exact same open world format- SSX 3, Burnout Paradise, Skate, Need for Speed Underground - they were all mini-maps loaded with all sorts of suspiciously similar activities across games. Just games given different paint jobs.

Ubisoft games are starting to feel similar to that- Assassin's Creed, Farcry 3, Watchdogs, I'm sure there are others.

Is that happening? Consider it added to the list if so.

Okay TimeDoctor I take your point, but you have to look at how this article is advertised and presented. It makes a point of the author being the "resident academic" and being a political scientist. Had they not mentioned those apparent facts, I wouldn't have thought this written by such a figure, being involved in academia myself. It's kind of like when "the most realistic fire in a game ever!" is advertised on the back of a game box- it's trying to draw your ...

Deadly Premonition 2, The Witness, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, Rime, Final Fantasy XV, Kingdom Hearts III, Just Cause 3, The Next Deus Ex game, Metal Gear Solid V, Half Life 3, Persona 5, The Last Guardian, Dreamfall Chapters, The Longest Journey Home, Syberia III.

Everything else can rot.

Probably because "modern liberal democratic societies" are in fact crypto-fascist corporate states. Even still, this is the least "academic" sounding article I've ever read by an "academic". People shouldn't be mislead that this is some kind of standard. This is the most throwaway thing I've ever read from an academic.

Ah my bad. Man this kickstarter page is a bit of mess. Didn't notice that.

What? No it hasn't? It's only on 2,703,000

If this can merge the repsonsivity of a mouse with the ergonomic shape and button placement of a controller, this really could be the best possible input for games ever.

What? No they don't. Microsoft's were totally exploitative. This is probably the most open console ever made. Microsoft were just trying to make a fascistically stable platform for profit. They're completely out of touch and so driven mad by money. Every single move they've made has shown this.

There's a remote possibility, but I don't think so. The first symbol was a circle with two gaps top and bottom, and turned out to be the Steam OS. The second was that same circle but enclosed by square backets which turned out to be the hardware that would "enclose" the Steam OS, i.e. the Steam Machines. Finally there's the third symbol, which comprises two of that same circle with a plus or addition symbol between them. Logically that suggests Steam OS + Steam OS- mayb...

Kind of wish they'd swap the places of the intro stage and the online co-op thing. Don't really care about online co-op. Also do they really need another 150,000 to make an extra stage? I say toss the co-op. The other stuff definitely isn't happening and of the stuff that's possible were it the next stretch goal, the extra stage is cooler by far.

First of all Half Life and Valve games are of a totally higher order than friggin Duke Nukem. Secondly. Duke Nukem's development was stopped and started, handed to different teams etc. For all we know, Half Life 3 has been an ongoing and uninterrupted project, and why shouldn't it be? If Valve want to make as many waves as they did with Half Life 2, they'd want to have something pretty big in the works.

I guarantee once Half Life 3 is announced people will be wigg...

I'd say they're one notch up. They have all the same over-zealous brand-loyalty that's for sure.

PC gamers are kind of bad in their own way though, and I think PC culture has rubbed off on consoles gamers a bit: They fetishize technology, performance and graphics to a ridiculous and juvenile level.

Smartphone users though. They take the cake. Consumer drones at their worst.

She's really got her hands full with this and XV. Must be pretty stressful. So much music to write and so much hype and expectation to meet. It'll be quite an achievement if the soundtracks of both are really good. I'm sure she'll manage though.

If it'll make her life any easier, please don't include that friggin Olympus Coliseum theme. Sick to my stomach of hearing it. Definitely one of her less inspiring tunes. All game soundtracks tend to have duds ...

I feel like they probably put this in the game on purpose. Like as a kind of sequel to the swing set.
