Cyclo Ds is much better anyway, but I mean, there's no getting around it, the device seriously hurts game sales for the ds. I won't say how many nds files I have, but I've only ever bought 2 ds games because of r4s and cyclos and whatnot. A minority use them for homebrew I'd imagine cause' it's all about getting dozens of great games for free and with minimal effort, sort of stingy if you think about it, but I can't really talk.
Argh who keeps green lighting this sort of junk? No one cares anymore.
Hrm... two criticisms. You seem to have to slow down time to handle pretty much every firefight; I thought this was meant to be one of the fastest games ever? It looks so jarring and annoying just switching back and forth between slow and fast like that.
My other criticism is the quick time event stuff. When I first saw footage of the player throwing the missile back into that giant robot thing, I figured that was a pretty hands on affair. I figured there was some awesome ...
God I hope this game is still in the works. It looked absolutely sick.
Realism in games misses the point a bit. Games are escapism. I don't want a mirror image of reality in a video-game, I want something that transcends it. Plus, I don't want violence in video-games to reach such a level of realism one day, that it resembles the real thing. That ain't safe. Not that video-games cause violence, but I'd be pretty worried about the psychological affects of a virtual-reality fps 2 generations from now.
Why'd they make Adrian Shepard look like a hipster parcour a$$hole? Aside from that however this is amazing.
Final Fantasy has a much larger place in my heart, but I love DQ too. DQVIII is astonishing.
I agree and I disagree. An important aspect of the series is constant innovation or at least complete renewal. The story's always different; the characters, the systems etc; all different. SE shouldn't rely on fans to help construct their game in those departments.
The linearity of the game however, given that it was a point of almost global criticism, should perhaps be taken into consideration. The linear sections sort of had symbolic meaning regarding the part of the story...
Well at least she wasn't bald. I think I'd slam that.
I can't believe this. I feel a little bit gutted. A Ps3 game from him would have been incredible. Oh well, end of an era I guess.
By god this article is dumb. Sephiroth impaling Aeris is a dramatic and symbolic scene that transcends the game mechanics to be dramatic and symbolic. If you confine the tale to the mechanics of the game, you're quite simply doing it wrong. The battle mechanics have only a fraction of function to the narrative. They're symbolic of struggle in rpgs. Actually, pretty much every aspect that may seem incongruous with the main dramatic narrative is only really symbolic. There's no poin...
Jesus Christ, imagine a next gen ZOE... Now that is something to be excited about.
Awesome awesome awesome.
Darn, for a moment I thought they screwed up and meant Tokuro Fujiwara, but he was the internal producer of megaman not exactly the creator. If they had actually meant Fujiwara, this could have almost definately have been a new Tombi game... I want to see one of those in my lifetime.
Aaagh multiplayer this multiplayer that. There haven't been enough stellar single player titles. It's like people are getting too lazy to make story driven games. Sick of multiplayer.
Man, one of the most loathsome hypocrites of all time. Almost worse than Bono.
Cool, cool.. because I can totally understand german an everything..
I was kind of expecting Half Life or Half Life 2 to be on there; as I was Crash Bandicoot, Banjo Kazooie and or Mario 64. But whatever, it's a good, intelligent list; no pandering to all the big, flashy, superficial games that people ignorantly give too much credit. This article respects the foundations of gaming.
Although I will say that this guys use of words (especially adjectives) was kind of weird and occasionally incorrect. He also uses the words "conspicuous...
I kind of don't want ME2 getting it just so Bioware get knocked of their high, elitist horse. For me it's Red Dead, Final Fantasy XIII (Even though that just won't happen.) or perhaps Heavy Rain. I think Red Dead is the strongest contender outta those though.
If I owned a 360 as well as a ps3 that'd probably be my exact top 5 too.
