But I wasn't too appealed with the premises of WKC, especially when Dark Cloud was under Level 5's belt. I mean a kid that turns into a knight... eh, it sounded OK. Level 5 has done so much better-- the Dark Cloud series (#2 at least) was about time travel, a story about a kid mysteriously writing to his mother who was revealed to be from the future. Anyways, I know WKC is a new direction, but it's not Level 5's best.
Better luck for WKC2 I guess. Hopefully they can resume with D...
Heavy Rain Reviews have been AA+ so far.
I am very disappointed with the score both as a Level 5 fan and an RPG enthusiast.
Wonder how they would have done with Dark Cloud 3 instead.
Oh well, I still have faith in them, hopefully WKC2 can be better.
I mean everybody was crapping on how it was a rip off or whatever but it seems to be quite solid.
But, in all honesty I have no use for NVG's. Maybe it would make a nice collectors item but I can't imagine USING them. I can not help but think IW were aiming to market this at younger kids.
the game looks stunning but I honestly wouldn't pay for a pool game when I can get it free on the net-- and on Home.
Then again I'm not really a pool enthusiast. I couldn't tell from the review, but does it have MP?
I'm actually getting a new laptop for school, but I would love a gaming laptop too. Not to run something huge like Crysis but something that can run MAss effect or Halo 2 or something of that nature.
I know nothing about computers though, and I want a laptop. I know Alienware is supposed to be the best option for gaming, but I have a budget around $1500.
I've considered a Mac Book for school because battery life is perfect but at the same time it's not meant for gami...
Wow, excellent post. I completely agree with you that 256 is a gameplay style. that's what I have been saying.
Bubbles to you.
Oh I see. Is it free? Seems very cool, but I hate these stupid laws.
@deadreckoning
Lol, shhh. ;)
Edit: Yeah, I would like to watch Hi def movies-- especially with other people unlike the PC where it's more private
I really don't remember MAG being hyped as AAA.
I remember a lot of people hyping A-AA. The only people that get really upset are the PS3 fanboys that are experiencing massive butt-hurt with a PS3 exclusive receiving lower grades than normal.
I don't understand why 7-8 is considered bad for an average but to many people on N4G they have a problem with it. Not every game needs to be AAA to succeed and it's exactly that kind of thinking that is so flawed and unfair for...
But I'm still waiting for Videos to come to my country. There are some stupid laws about videos or something, and it's highly annoying not being able to buy movies on PS3.
What exactly is "The Tester" though?
It doesn't look like bee's knees to me, but it certainly looks worthy of a try.
As for Edge, did you expect any higher? They are always like that.
For this list:
most reviewers did mention all 5 points, but they either weren't that impressed with them, or they found some other faults with the game (IGN noted bugs and balance issues). Then again, others loved the concept.
I think the mass diversity of reviews comes solely from experience. It'...
"Again, through our research, we learned that while people definitely enjoy physical interaction and movement, they also want precise control and a simple, fast, reliable way to trigger actions and hence, we designed our new control system to accomplish all of this"
This is exactly why I am anticipating the Arc more than Natal: I NEED and want something tactile to hold. I can't imagine stepping on an invisible gas pedal or using my hands to shoot an air-gun.
Marketing hype. It's a pretty damn good slogan. It's so edgy and has a bit of a sarcastic attitude. I think they need to redo the "Universe of Entertainment" ad with the Ladies and Gentlemen song and infuse the "It only does everything" ad.
The UoE ad really made the PS3 look like a "do-it-all" machine but with how far the PS3 has gone since then it would be nice to see it done again.
Did you not read what I wrote or do you just defensively assume everybody who doesn't live in your PS3-sheep obedient world doesn't own a PS3?
If you are going to be willfully ignorant then go ahead but please try to comprehend what I write before your preconceived notions cloud your judgment. I'm so sick and tired of people assuming that just because I say some things that aren't pro-PS3 that I automatically hate it or don't own one. How would you like to step up and eat your ow...
Hey I'll give you a bubble, I enjoyed the discussion and respect your opinion.
Here's the thing:
HHG isnt the only one but he IS the most notoriously known one. I don't know any one person in gaming that is like him, maybe there are others but I haven't seen them.
And yes, that is somewhat unfair to focus all the hate on HHG but again, he brings it down on himself. I'm sure he knows that the more famous he gets the more haters he'll get: that's what happ...
Lol sorry, I keep having to add things because sometimes I don't explain things in detail which results in people making hidden assumptions about my posts.
I understood MAG to be a 256 player game, and it was certainly hyped like that too. Even the advertisement seems to give that impression, so I think that this is what's going to lead to the refinement process of "finding the sweet spot" for MAG's community.
It happens in tons of games that aren't exactly...
Aside from the 10/10 PSLS gave which I didn't find credible.
Gamespot's review is coming tonight btw-- they pointed out on their podcast that the game doesn't offer anything close to 256 players on screen at once and I remember IGN stressing that you usually fight squads more than engage in some 256-player on screen battle, but that is kind of expected considering that would be complete chaos. It's actually my only concern with MAG. On paper and even in the Butler ad it makes it ...
That's not what I'm saying-- I'm more interested in the world of Dark Cloud not because I played it, but because I find the world engaging.
The world of WKC doesn't interest me as much-- I'm not saying one is better than the other-- your right, I haven't played it. You misunderstood me, or likely I wasn't clear: I don't like the idea of playing as a knight, and I find the world of WKC to be "okay" compared to the unique world of Dark Cloud. I don't have to play both gam...
It already beats out MW2, their main competitor because:
a) they had extensive beta testing
b) they were completely open to suggestions
c) their community manager isn't a douche who hides behind twitter
d) they didn't dumb down their game for casuals... much
e) they didn't add things pulled out of their a** just because it sounded cool, and if they did they made sure it was balanced
f) they have dedicated servers
g) they are dedicated
...
Your right, my first comment was sarcastic and I pretty much contributed to the generalization. Sorry. However, I only did that in a light-hearted manner and wasn't trying to totally insult him: When an HHG video comes out I generally do find his views quite ignorant but I also have made many replies to his videos. I think that he lost respect and shouldn't expect people to believe everything he says when he is the one instigating flame bait articles and flame bait videos. So, even though peo...
You don't need to play 500 hours to understand the game, nor do you have to play it completely, especially if you are talking about an RPG. Sorry man, I'm just as disappointed as you are. The review may be short but that doesn't mean the guy didn't play it.
