Ah, so the Scarlet will be more powerful even though no one (including Phil) knows Sony's plans for the PS5? Gotcha.

Sony themselves announced 86.1 million sold, so it's not padding. And given MS no longer releases sales figures, who's to say the 39.5 million given by VGChartz isn't already padded?

And how is that any worse than people ragging on the game for the very same reasons?

It's always been about race. Why else do you think pop culture rarely ever portrayed black cowboys at all, let alone to the tune of 1 in every 4?

To be fair, Nintendo has released twice as many handhelds.

The OG Xbox was more powerful than the PS2, yet it was dominated. The XBox One was less powerful than the PS4 and got dominated. The Xbox One X is more powerful than the Pro, yet hasn't done anything to turn the tide.

Nothing would please Sony more than if MS botched more crucial aspects of the next system (such as price, or launch time frame), because they were obsessed with being the most powerful.

"Anyone care to explain?"

Sure. They're too busy being stuck on fanboying.

@PFFT - Yes, this shit sucks just as much when Sony does it. Believe it or not, not all of us PlayStation fans are fanboys.

Yes, you can use Nazis as an avatar, as a function of needing opposing sides, which is pretty vital to the gameplay of a game set during WWII (be it an alternative setting or otherwise). Doesn't mean the game is propagating nazism.

@Skull521

I got into Battlefield because I like the mechanics. I like that if there's a sniper camped in a building, I can use an RPG to take him and half the structure down. I like that instead of calling in an airstrike via killstreak, I can just spawn in a jet and do the bombing myself. So long as the series maintains these mechanics, and doesn't start propagating extreme right wing ideologies, then I don't give a shit where it stands in the culture wars. ...

"... that doesn't mean the line can't be crossed every now and then."

There are all kinds of lines that can be crossed; crossing the line from the Xbox side and picking up a PS4 so you can enjoy its exclusives, for instance.

Which is odd. Yeah, the X is more powerful, but there are tons of Pro games that surpass 1080p.

I'll keep an open mind, but after two Destiny games and The Division, I'm close to having had my fill of these online-only MMO-shooter-RPG hybrids for one generation.

You know, I clicked and read the article, thinking it was some worthwhile insight into why the game might not be as good as critics are saying. Turned out to be a long rant about hype, with little said about the actual game itself.

So yeah, I earned you a bit of money. Congrats! You fooled me once.

Maybe that's why people call him a PR mouthpiece? Because he speaks with all this passion about gaming, yet consistently comes up short when it comes to delivering games?

It's almost maddening. The Xbox One X is the most technically accomplished system ever made (for now anyway), yet there hasn't been a game worth buying one for since Forza Horizon 3.

The Xbox roundly lost this generation. There's nothing they can show at E3 that'll change that fact. At a 1:2 (possibly 1:3) deficit to the PS4, the math is simply against them. Your best case scenario is that they'll lay the foundations for a strong ninth generation.

Yes. There's a difference between outright buying a billion-dollar-valued developer/publisher with a history of making only multiplatform games, and buying a small studio you've nurtured a second-party relationship with over years/decades. Studios like Naughty Dog got their bread and butter via funding from said relationships, and probably wouldn't be the studios they are today without them.

@Guilty_Spark and NoPeace_Walker

You're both being willfully obtuse. Sigrid mentioned global sales only to illustrate how, despite the fact that Sony has wins month after month, they don't stoop to the classless and desperate levels that Greenberg is stooping to here.

@LordJamar

Don't be obtuse. A game's sales don't have to scale to a platform's install base in order to be successful.
