Sony should sue every other publication that predicts price-cuts even after Sony has silenced the rumors. I'm all for freedom of speech but it's getting to the point where everyone is predicting price cuts based purely on speculation and hurting Sony. That applies to any company. They're taking about CPU-exclusive related tasks. There is no commercially available processor as capable as the Cell processor in terms of what the SPEs are best at. That's why currently there is no system capable of handling it. That's why the Cell processor is used by scientists for heavy computing and that's why PS3 exclusive games have an insane amount of effects going on per frame.
RE5 on PS3 will probably sell more in continental Europe, so even if what you say is correct:
1 game sale in Europe > 1 Game sale in America (games are more expensive, plus the dollar is weak)
1 game sale in Japan > 1 Game sale in America (same here)

I don't think this comparison is good. First of all, RE4 on PS2 was inferior to the gamecube version, second it was launched long after the hype died. Take Lost Planet 2 and Bioshock, for example. These games failed to make as much impact on PS3 as they did on 360 because they launched about a year later.
It's still impressive that RE5 is selling a lot in spite of the fact that it is merely RE4 in HD and not even a horror game.
