The goal of the refresh is to reduce the production costs of each unit, nothing else. There will be no additional processing power in the newer units. You might see bundled games or a larger HDD, but the base unit and physical foot print will not change.

Both games look amazing!!! The PS3 has slighly softer edges while the 360 has sharper edges...and depending on your preference, one might be better than the other. I personally like the softer edges. And as for image pop-in, both have it. And for me not having a jet engine running (360 CD drive w/fan) in the background is the deciding factor for most games. If MS would come out with a quieter version of the 360, I would consider more 360 games.
Ever think that the issue is the game engine....one that is optimized for the 360? Maybe, maybe not. Regardless,look at the reviews, both are getting excellent ratings. Just buy for the system of choice and move on.

Read the reviews and not the summary at N4G. The 360 got a 6.0 and the PS3 a 5.5. The game is not living up to the hype! There are so many better games out this month for your money.

You are so correct!!! It is obviously they never played the game. The game requires a fair amount of playing (different skills, game types, scoring, etc.) to truely make an informed decision on the game.
Reviewing a game before the server and latest patch are available is a sure sign the reviewer never played the final version. Also comments about communicating with 256 players. You communicate in smaller squads.....
Reviews these days stink...either the game doesn't do things better than game XXXXX or it "tries to accomplish lots and suceeds to do little". Or the game focus on a francise and can do no wrong! That sums up most reviews!

Articles like this are a waste of time. Lets take a look at what they compared MAG to: Modern Warfare 2 - great game, fast paced, no strategy; Left 4 Dead 2 - repetitive, need I say more; Borderlands - good game, but still full of bugs!; Halo: ODST - good game, little substance; Killzone 2 - Good game, fast paced, no strategy. Based on this list of games, MAG is different. I agree that the MMO aspect can get lost when playing MAG at times, but for me MAG has tons of strategy, great upgrades.....
What is the point of these comparisons? The images will never be identical due to the systems being different. More often than not the images in these comparisons are not identical (slight different angles, different lighting angles, etc.). Also, analyzing static images from each system proves nothing... Things that matter include controls, sound, and gameplay.
If you were put in front of both systems and played the game without pausing the game, you would never know the differen...
As others have said, an early DLC for the 360 is not going to impact sales for either the 360 or the 360 version of MW2. More than likely, most 360 owners have already bought the game. This press release right after the holiday season makes no sense! The benefit for the cost MS paid just isn't there. PS3/360 owners aren't going to trade in their PS3 MW2 for the 360 version just for the DLC. Stupid MS. Of course Activision and IW are just as bad for taking the bait from MS.
