Seems like the only way the PS3 can compete with the 360 is when Sony sells it at a loss. They can't be good for the future of the Playstation business.
These articles appear every year and it just doesn't happen. Unlike Sony, MS hasn't cut price every year just to keep up. Next year MS will cut price dramtically, widen the gap, announce the next Xbox and claim victory over the PS3.
The casual crowd has no loyalty like the hardcore crowd once they get bored thats it. With portable gaming going to the smart phones and the Wii U looking to be another Gamecube its looking real bad for Nintendo. I have a feeling after the next generation is over they might have to go the way of Sega and be a software only company.
It very likely the PS4 will come first since MS still has the mot room to drop price since there is still a $399 model, which in the end should be $199, Sony on the other only really has one or two price cuts left.
Plus with Halo 4 coming out next year along with all those Japanese Kinect games like Draco, Steel Battalion plus Star Wars. No way MS will release or even announce their next console next year they have to much to market, especially if they cut price as well.
Is this game coming out this year? there no hype for it what so ever. If R3 was a sales flop this game doesn't stand a chance, especially with all the low reviews.
Same thing happened to the PS3 at launch, then in a couple of weeks after the early adaptors had gone they were everywhere in huge numbers, it even happened with the 3DS.
Not really if a game is good or has mass appeal it will sell well. Score from critics don't mean much since they can be easily paid for sales define whether a game was a real hit.
So far the PS3 has had one AAA game thats LBP 2 and a few AA games all of which have yet to reach 1ml in sales.
The 360 on the other hand has had the superior versions of all the multiplats, has been outselling the PS3 WW according to offical numbers and is on schedule to get 3-4 AAA games with gears,forza,halo and possibly dance central 2.
So yes the 360 is dominating this year once again.
Not bad considering it had Sony's biggest ad campaign ever, at least in the UK and probably WW. Should do around 3ml lifetime since its been bundled.

Well obviously, but it will definitely sell more than FFX-2 sold compared to FFX.
GT5 may have better sales but Forza 3/4 are both miles ahead of it in terms of quality

Crazy numbers for the 360 even without a price cut it sells near half a million, and continues to be the No.1 selling console WW.
While the PS3 only managed 260K with a $50 price cut :s

Wow thats some serious ...
SE is losing too much money hence why it went muliplatform. Its the same reason why FFVSXIII will be on the 360 and likely the Wii U as well.
Thats only if MS doesn't cut price. But this pretty much confirms the 360 will beat the PS3 this gen.
PS3 fanboys needs to just get over that fact and enjoy the games they have to play.
