That's unfortunate in my eyes... I would hope they go in a completely different direction from what they have been doing in their recent past. They need to break away from the FPS and move to something else. I think they are a good developer.
Single-player is where it's at for me. I'm not saying I don't occasionally enjoy some sort of multi-player aspect, but it's rare.
However, this new generation of gamer is more socially accepted than ever before, so you have all kinds of casual gamers in the gamer-space now. This has led to the more business minded people in the industry to want to cash in on that as much as possible.
Honestly, this should give current independent game studios and future ones food for thought. Don't tie yourself to one publisher. Don't sign contracts that lock you into anything. Don't get into a position, where you can't function or produce another game without large amounts of publisher dollars, that will come with a big fat monkey on your back. Don't go public! Dear god, don't ever get into a situation where you are being bought out by a big publishing player or a...
Really interesting. Very different approach to a zombie game. I wonder if this trailer will be at all reflective of the gameplay? I hope so.
I don't like rap, but I like Ice T.
I am really taking a long look at the Nvidia GTX560 TI.
I am of the opinion that if you have a moderate gaming PC, you should be playing all the games you can on it.
If you have a moderate PC without a good graphics card... pony up $120.00 for one that can play most games.
Liked the list, but where is Master of Orion, Stonekeep and Descent to Undermountain?
I wish they would make more games like Homeworld and Freespace.
You can be a fan and a thief. People who are saying that pirates can't also be fans, would fail a standard intelligence test question of similar makeup.
You want to use examples like stealing cars and robbing stores, but those examples are so far removed from the reality of pirating software, that they are laughable.
Also, the argument that if someone can afford a console/PC/internet connection, they should have no problem buying games, is an incredib...
Interesting that he said it won't be noticeably different from the trailers... that is a key point.
It's obvious that unless you completely disable DX10/11 features from the PC version, that this will look noticeably better on PC. I'm not really sure why he would make a statement like that.
However, that being said... if they can bring out the console version, without compromising the PC version in any way, than I say go for it. If you want t...
The real question is, even if they have a new lead developer, will they be given the chance to make any meaningful changes? It's Activision's big ticket item, so I'm thinking the room for innovation is pretty slim.
Interesting that the Black & White gives a Nazi SS vibe... Am I the only one that sees that?
It's just the type of picture, I'm not saying anything bad about the man, as I don't know much about him anyway. It's just the motif of the picture.
What the subject of the argument was about doesn't really matter, as it could have been anything. He has a serious problem... nobody of sound mind at the age of 16 should ever think that the solution to your family argument is sneaking into your parent's room and killing them with a hammer. There are larger and deeper issues at play with this guy.
It's just one more way for people to point at games and say they are the devil... no thanks... we have enough rea...
My general thought on this is, piracy has some effect on companies, but it is something they can fold into profit/loss. Also, generally it has much less effect on software sales than it does on the sale of say, baby diapers. If you take 1000 boxes of baby diapers and each box has 12 bags of diapers and each bag has 36 diapers, that's 432,000 diapers. Now, all those diapers had to be produced physically, which requires all the materials to make them and a place to store the final product....
Nothing has moved anywhere. PC gaming has been online and connected for longer than game consoles have been around. People would play text games back and forth between computers back when you had to hook your phone up to a 2400 baud modem.
PC gaming is a dynamic platform that can support more-or-less any kind of gaming experience you want. That's why so many prefer it and that's why it won't die.
It seems to me that year-over-year it has grown...
I can understand why people would want a game like Diablo 3 on their console of choice, but Blizzard apparently has a lot of latitude, when it comes to their original properties. Technically, Activision is the boss of Blizzard and could tell them they have to release such and such title for this and that platform. However, they seem to back off from exerting all that much force on Blizzard. They make a lot of money for Activision and Vivendi (which ultimately owns them both), so that gives th...
If it did happen, it would be because EA deems it worthwhile, not because Maxis wants it. Maxis as an independent entity has not existed for over a decade.
Actually, if you look at sp1deynut's comment, in my estimation, it's fairly obvious that his/her intentions are not constructive, but destructive. For all we know, a mod like this is not even something he would ever enjoy, no matter what engine was used. It cripples his particular standing to that of someone yelling at someone else on the street that they are stupid and should die. It's just as infantile and pointless.
He even goes so far to put talent in quotes...
There could be many reasons why a person would make a mod like that. Many people who mod, do so for the experience and hopefully so that they will have something to show potential employers if they are interested in getting their foot in the door of the games industry.
Some do it because they want to see something that doesn't exist in a particular game or engine. Maybe they have what they consider to be a great idea or maybe their friends have a desire to see something...
Hmmm.... It seems to me it was cancelled, because the director wanted to stick to the spirit of the game... Am I the only one that thinks it was bad that it was cancelled? I would love to see a movie, based on a game, that actually got it right.
I mean the first Resident Evil was pretty good for a movie based on a game, but it wasn't exactly the best adaptation I could think of... and the rest of them were popcorn flicks at best.
