Competition isn't always just about giving it your best shot and giving the consumer the best possible deal or time, it's also about trying to make more money than your competitor, by whatever means necessary. That means that not everything competition brings is good.
Moneyhats in the form of exclusive games and exclusive content? Not good but they were started to "one up" the competing platforms, and a lot of the time, it works.
Paying for ...
It's 10% of the content of the final release because the final release has 6 more planets, more areas in the Tower, more gamemodes for the Crucible, and a lot more loot. I'd say adding all of that up can amount to 90% of the content meaning there probably isn't anything that was "blocked off" for Old Russia.
Even if some things were blocked off from Old Russia, I wouldn't want to see it because the entire area was boring after going through it a few ...
It's an opinion piece, it says right below the image, and I agree with some of it.
Here's every quest: go there, kill waves, advance, kill more waves, advance, waves and a mini-boss that's really just a bullet sponge and isn't even remotely hard, win.
It was a chore for me and I didn't enjoy it in the slightest. If they're trying to make the game fun, then add some variety or make some real compelling enemies that aren't just bulle...
@Geralt:
So a game that required $2000 PC specs looks much better than a game that was made for a $600 console but ported over to a newer one? How do you figure?
And yes, the game is a PS3 game through and through, just ported over. It's much like how most multiplats only looked slightly better on PC than on consoles. If you want to compare games, compare something made for the PS4, something like Infamous SS which blows away tons of modern PC games.
Dualshockers. If they can drag out 1 topic into 100 articles, they would. Hell, I'm pretty sure they have. Come at me Abriel, you know it's true and you'd be lying to yourself if you said it wasn't.
Well said, fellow Greendalien.
@y7 and other letters:
The fact that the PS3 was on the market for a year less and was able to overcome an 8 million (not 10) gap just puts the 360 in a bad light. It got a year headstart and the PS3 caught up, there's also no proof that either one is ahead and the general consensus is that they're about even. The PS3 will continue to sell because it's still getting exclusives, and fairly big ones, Persona 5 and Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD. It's also got far more WW...
"A company wanting to make as much money as possible"
Can't make money on a license if you're not making anything that has to do with said license. If they actually had something in the pipeline that was related to Crash, then sure, I can see where your point is valid but right now, it's just them being stubborn with a license.
They have more than one team and VR by ND can be a truly engrossing experience.
@n4rc:
Is it funny? Because what you just described was Playstation's really strong WW appeal. You said the 360 had an 8 million lead due to a year head start and the PS3 caught up. That's because of the PS3's WW appeal. The PS3 had to consistently outsell the 360 WW in order to catch up. If the 360 had the same WW appeal as well as its US and UK appeal which made up 50+ million of its 80 million sales, it wouldn't be tied with the PS3 and it would probably be...
Lower resolution doesn't impact shadows or lighting unless it's sub-HD since even in 720p games, they can still look great and are very comparable. It might impact textures since you won't be able to see the full details of the textures, though.
AA and overall IQ will take the biggest hits from lower resolution.
That's not to say that the game won't have worst shadows or lighting if it was on the Xbox One, just that resolution doesn't ...
"That kind of corporate warfare bull is why devs didn't have enough time to make dedicated games for next gen. Most games (if not all) from 3rd party devs were cross-gen"
Who might those devs be? No 3rd party dev wanted to make dedicated next-gen only games in the first place because there wouldn't be enough money in it for them if they only targeted next-gen systems that didn't even have installbases yet.
Lots of those games have also b...
Better lighting, textures, and AA too. The new AA is quite nice because the original game had a lot of shimmering, the Remaster looks to have none at all.

Double jumping and extra strength for prying off doors... I'm glad to see the bar has been set high.
Game changers for COD, maybe, but for everyone not interested in COD, this isn't gonna interest me. The core mechanics don't look much better and they still seem to be trying to force fake emotions down people's throats. That's all fine, since the game isn't targeted towards me and shouldn't try to target everyone, but still, not game changing in th...
You'd expect the bar to be set just a bit higher because of actual game changers like No Man's Sky.
They're not just about games, they're about very specific games, games that are abundant on the Vita and 3DS. They're also more about mobile and handhelds than consoles, it just fits the Japanese lifestyle more.
If they drop the price, they're gonna be selling it at a loss again. Apparently they're working on a new CELL to replace the old one, this one is supposed to be cheaper and smaller which would allow them to drop the price without selling at a loss or maybe just selling it at a smaller loss.
This was a good move, though, one I really didn't think EA was gonna allow to happen.
Crossfire, the worst F2P game with the worst pay to win policies is the highest grossing game in China, aside from mobile phone games. The reason why it's so popular and it makes so much money is because it can run on anything, from weak PCs at people's homes to weak PCs at one of the many internet cafes.
The problem with the Xbox One is that F2P is still behind the Gold paywall, not to mention the fact that it doesn't have any F2P games. They're trying to ove...
