Your logic fails. People aren't buying Vitas and not enough people have bought Vitas in the first place, not enough for Sony to continue developing for it anyway. The sales have stagnated at 10 million and it's been demonstrated that making more games for the Vita won't sell them. Hell, the 3DS/New 3DS sales are nowhere near being the monstrosities of Nintendo's previous handhelds in the same time frame.
The handheld market was huge because parents bought them...
Oh God. Your post history. The salt is real.
Considering there hasn't been anything big for the Xbox One at all this year (aside from Gears of War Ultimate Edition and Ori if you want to count them), it's probably really dusty, huh?
Why would they make money for making a downgraded version? They're simply spending less time on the PC version because they know they're getting less sales from it. Playstation and Nintendo consoles/handheld's are where the bulk of Japanese game sales come from, they have to cater to their market and focus on the product that's going to sell most, not least.
@Palitera:
So why didn't Peace Walker, which had similar timers for R&D, also have microtransactions? Sure, they're present in TPP but we have no clue on what they're going to do to the experience. Anything we can say is just conjecture, including anything I say. Never rush to conclusions especially when we've gotten word that it's not bad.
And yes, business 101, if you can make money off of something, why wouldn't you? Doesn't...
@Both Palitera and Soulscare:
And this is the problem with everything. People overreact before there's actual evidence of anything to be really mad about. All we have is speculation and you've blown it out of proportion.
The fact that you have to wait forces you to want to build and manage your base to be more efficient which is pretty much the point of the game. You see it as being designed around forcing people to pay by putting timers. Well, from e...
@XBLskull:
Your interpretation of what a "game" is doesn't actually define what it is if the gaming industry as a whole doesn't define it in the same way since we've seen interactive "movies" as you call them win GOTY. You can say "I don't like it" but that doesn't mean it isn't a valid option.
The reason it's limited is because DX12 helps PCs code to the metal by simplifying the optimization process and cutting a lot of overhead. The tools were extremely limited before and for them to code to the metal, they would essentially have to focus on each individual PC setup they can think of. They'd essentially be treating each PC setup like it's own console with dedicated teams working on each, and there's millions of different setups they'd have to do that on. It'...
@2cents:
"This is the fault of the press, is it not?"
Well, you'd need to define what you mean by "the press". The site that reported that news was very clearly biased towards the Xbox brand. The Editor-in-Chief of the site is also clearly a fanboy based on things he's said on NeoGAF.
If that's what we're considering "the press" these days, then I'm afraid we've gone off the deep end. It...
@uptownsoul:
What about it is damning? People with class and character have been in pictures with even weirder circumstances. I'm not defending the guy and I'm not saying he has class or character because he sounds like an annoying prick, but a picture of a guy being silly with friends doesn't mean anything.
What I do find weird is that the COD dev didn't just brush it off as another internet troll and he actually went out of his way to search...
@GenuineGamer:
For both to be doing extremely well, well, they both have to be doing extremely well... The XBO's performance does not give off that impression at the moment. Yes, the XBO is doing better than the 360 in the same time frame, but it's not like the 360 was doing great in the first place.
The 360 was coming off of that OG Xbox "hype", meaning the Xbox fanbase was still relatively small. It was also the only next-gen console that ...
I don't think we'll be revisiting any places we were at in the previous games like we did in MGS4, though. Nostalgia played a big part in it being awesome, sure, but it was just an awesome level in general. Also, Metal Gear fight. Kojima Productions made the best Godzilla/Kaiju brawler there ever was and it was just a small portion of the game. Mother Base and Big Shell share aesthetic qualities, though.
If they were to keep it going, possibly even crowdfunding it, I don't think it'd get the following it would without Kojima's name attached to it. And there's no way Konami's gonna give it to Kojima after all that's happened.
Shenmue III would probably do better than Silent Hills since nobody worth mentioning would be working on Silent Hills while Shenmue III's got much of the original team and Yu Suzuki, the legend himself, working on it. Most of ...
Yes, it is incredibly messed up, but so would accepting preorders for games and then cancelling the game but keeping the money anyway. There's literally an infinite number of incredibly messed up things to imagine and there's not much point in imagining most of them unless the possibility of them happening is very real. We have no reason to believe what you're imagining will happen, but imagine away anyway if you want, I guess. Nothing wrong with it, just a pretty useless thought ...
I don't know if it's the same guy, but the editor in chief of that site is the user UKUMI0 on NeoGAF.

He also has this to say in regards to the PS4:
"I bought it for the exclusives....and there are none for the next six months, that's what annoys me."
And he has this to say when told about all of the...
My friend in Germany told me his neighbors called the cops because they woke up to the sound of a lot of screaming from his apartment. That's the power of FFVII and Shenmue III.
NG was a character action game with nuanced mechanics and an emphasis on combos and finesse... I don't see that at all with Devil's Third. They also released their own footage and it didn't show off the combat any better. So if it really is poor player skill that's the problem, then why didn't they get some good players to show it off with their footage instead?
It could have storytelling and writing that's on par, but the story itself can't be as impactful regardless of what they do. TLOU is what it is because it's grounded and crafts a story about loss and the need for human companionship and family bonds. That's infinitely more important a story than a fun adventure piece like Uncharted should, could, and probably can deliver, and it just wouldn't fit the tone of Uncharted to have something that does it.
I wanna know what you mean by that. The Tomb Raider games prior to the reboot didn't have much emphasis on combat and the platforming was a bit wonky until the later games. All Uncharted shares with it is the theme of treasure hunting and the fact that you jump around and climb things.
Their true predecessor is Indiana Jones and Uncharted takes a lot more inspiration from it than it does from Tomb Raider. Indy was a very human badass and the films had a cast of interestin...
It's concise like the rest of Sony's gaming hardware, aside from their handhelds.
Which one's the new Sony console? The PS4. Which one's the previous one? The PS3, etc. I hope they keep it concise with the PS5's VR headset as well, PSVR2? Idk. Whatever they do, they want to make sure people can tell the difference between the two.
If you're gonna ask why Sony'd need to make a new headset for the PS5, well, the PS5 is going to be mo...
