"Dude raider", "it's ripping off Tomb Raider", "now Tomb Raider's ripping off Uncharted", etc. The two franchises have been compared since Uncharted 1, so yeah, I think there would be comparisons regardless of whether or not ROTR was a timed exclusive/full exclusive.

Well, in the US, the PS4 isn't that far ahead of the Xbox One, but the split for certain games and certain genres lean towards the PS4. RPGs in general do better on the PS4, like The Witcher 3 which even had a marketing deal with MS.

The Xbox division cultivated a dude bro legacy and the dude bro games aren't as popular as they once we're and devs just aren't interested in making them anymore (look at how many grey shooters there were last gen compared to this...

Uncharted 3 released 2 months after Gears of War 3 meaning Gears 3 had 2 months extra on the market for 2011. That could have something to do with it.

A total of 6.15 million sales for Gears 3.

AR will be very important for non-gaming related things. It'll probably take the role of smartphones in a decade and it's practically a personal hologram hence the name "hololens" which I find to be much better than an actual hologram in some ways. Hololens will be augmented reality for an individual, holograms will be augmented reality that everyone else can see as well. I'd feel really awkward walking around with my virtual waifu Alison Brie if other people can see her...

Great analogy, now just put a $60 label on both the lemon and the apple to make it even easier for people to realize that getting both isn't a problem at all, especially when there are a dozen other great fruits releasing at the same time for the same price. Boy, I'm glad everyone in the world has an infinite supply of money for their fruits. /s

Nobody said they shouldn't be proud, but should they be if the sales are bad? I mean, it's their collective faults if it sells bad. It might just create a strenuous relationship between SE and MS the same way Ubisoft feels about Nintendo.

Doesn't do much harm if they delay it and its only likely going to do some good by not having it be completely under Fallout's shadow. Sure, people who are looking forward to ROTR will be disapp...

This has a lot more to say about the landscape of the industry than simply "Ubisoft makes a lot of money". Mid-tier development pretty much died last gen when game sales were split between the 360 and PS3, and mid-tier dev teams couldn't really afford to make games for both. They could either focus on one and not make enough money or make for both and use way too many resources and not recoup the costs. Having the industry move back to how it was in every other generation other ...

@Donthate:

The installbase of the 360 and PS3 aren't as high as they used to be. Console sales aren't equal to a console's installbase, console sales only tell you how many have been sold and installbase tells you how many are in use and there's a big discrepancy between the two when a new generation starts.

New generations mean that people who own last gen consoles will probably move on to current gen consoles. 3rd party sales on last gen con...

And if neither will pay for exclusive content, it's more likely the content will go to the PS4 first or forever because its going to see the most profits from the PS4, profits that might outweigh the potential sales and costs of having it on other platforms. It's how the PS2 had so many 3rd party exclusives, because making games on other platforms simply wasn't worth it.

And you're downplaying the difference in attach rate. They cou...

I really don't understand what the hell you guys want to see from No Man's Sky since they've already shown a lot. Just because there's no hand guiding you to do things doesn't mean there's nothing to do. Minecraft doesn't require you to do anything, you just do whatever you want with what the game allows you to do. The same with No Man's Sky and they've shown enough in it to give you an idea of what you can do and might want to do. If none of that interests...

You just claimed to have one of the best graphics cards available and an incredibly powerful CPU as well as a fairly large 1440p monitor... It seems like graphics kind of matter to you, probably not more than gameplay but if you'd buy all of that equipment, you probably want your games to look good on it.

Similarly, how good a game can look can matter to people on consoles as well. If someone owns both consoles, they probably want the version that looks better. The only r...

Games tend to start entering deeper Q&A around 2-3 months prior to release. They tend to lock down everything else prior to that and focus on fixing core issues as they pop up. Games coming in 2016 look further along the way, maybe they just chose some better demos than 343 did, but then 343 should have shown a better demo. If that's not the case and they're still trying to lock down their target FPS, resolution and everything else, then they need to delay the game.

I didn't care last-gen and I don't care now since I both hardly ever buy DLC and I don't care about COD at all. But, you have to realize that MS set the precedent and now there's a market for timed content/games because MS created it and publishers now have a thirst for it. If Sony doesn't get it, then MS will, it's just much easier for Sony to get it since they do have the larger installbase.

If you want it to stop, then both companies have to stop. I...

That paints a great picture of MS. They could have built a console that didn't have a 50% fail rate last-gen, but they didn't really want to. They could have included wi-fi, lithium ion batteries for controllers, HD-DVD use (which would've allowed for more storage on discs allowing for games that required multiple discs to only need one), etc. into their previous console at launch, but they didn't really want to (they could do the same with the XBO's controller as well). ...

Majority in comparison to what? In order to say that something is in the majority or minority, you'd need a consensus of the whole group otherwise you're talking nonsense.

Approximately 30 million people currently own current gen consoles. If only 6 million people watched it, then they're not exactly a majority. In fact, the majority of people who owned these consoles didn't watch any of these videos.
