Lol. I remember people saying "Competition's good and Sony doesn't have enough competition so they're gonna become complacent". Now people are saying it's over and done with, get over it. And Internet Explorer being the terrible browser it has been has allowed a lot of hackers to easily steal people's information for a long time. But yeah, I'll just get over it and when MS screws us over again, I won't get mad because at some point I should get over it an...
They're not talking about SteamOS, they're just talking about regular old Steam, the application most people use to play games on all PCs.
@Tobsesan:
You wanna know what's ironic? The reason Windows is the default OS is because of the tactics that Tim Sweeney are talking about. And no, people don't like Windows as much as it is simply necessary for the things they want to do because MS strong armed the competition and became the default OS provider.
This is Tim Sweeney's entire point, good job for not understanding it, trying to refute it, and ultimately making his point even mor...
@thekhurg:
Origin being a thing doesn't stop Steam at all. You're not comprehending what MS is capable of doing. They can completely destroy Steam, Origin, and every other service just by making them harder for people to use since they own the OS most people use to play on. That's a bit different than people using both Steam and Origin, don't you think?
@343:
Everything he is saying is based on things MS have done in the past. They're kind of known for this sort of thing, in fact, it's one of the main reasons they've become the giants that they are. They even had an internal name for this tactic, "Embrace, Extend, Extinguish". Just look it up. The fact it even has a name is even more damning.
I think it was just normal people playing Until Dawn. They didn't get the hellspawn of PewDiePie to play the game.
@fries:
Opinions. I think this game optimizes everything wrong with gaming these days.
I haven't played the game since it came out so I can't remember everything in detail but I remember that even normal maneuvers felt weird in Watch Dogs. So no, that's not why.
@gapecanpie:
I think they'd prefer if people bought on Xbox consoles, though. They can charge you to play online and if you happened to buy a 3rd party game on it, MS stands to profit, and these two are the things that finally helped Xbox be profitable last gen. They can't do that on PC.
Sorry, I don't know about you guys, but I watch E3, not to know when things that are releasing this year are releasing, but to get hyped about things in the future with spectacle and bombs being dropped so my jaw can also drop.
We're all on N4G for crying out loud, do we really need the biggest gaming conference devoted to telling us about this stuff when we routinely get release date announcements through other means? Or am I wrong and this isn't a gaming news ...
Depends what you're looking for in a boss fight. GOW does spectacle like no other, DMC does style like no other, and the Souls games give the best feeling of accomplishment like no other.
Never read something so close minded on this site, and I've seen someone go on a racist tangent.
@Zediz:
I'm pretty sure MS already has more money than Sony and can create more games and own more studios... So why don't they already? Better yet, why haven't they had more for years now?
@Oneshot:
They're losing 3rd party royalties that they'd get if people bought multiplats on their Xbox's and potential XBLG subscribers which were both major contributors to the 360s profitability.
Every person that chooses to not get the Scorpio or slim will also not be contributing to hardware sales. Now, hardware sales don't help make them much money, in fact, they could be selling each console at a loss, but hardware not moving off of...
We don't even know what happened. "Destroyed him as a person" could mean a million things.
@nix:
Hypocrite much? In this very thread there's people saying Xbox One exclusives aren't really exclusive because you don't need an Xbox One to play them, you even said "Xbox has exclusives?" as if you mean to say it doesn't. And yet you have a problem with the same logic being applied to games on the PS4. And this is coming from someone who prefers Playstation.
Jesus, I'm really debating on whether or not to continue comin...
Fillion's too old now. Jeremy Renner's a good pick. Oscar Isaac's one of my favorite actors though, and I think he can play the part. Naughty Dog have said that Nate has a little Hispanic in him, Oscar Isaac's full Guatemalan but it could work.
That's going a bit far. They release their fair amount of duds, but I can't fault them for giving their studios freedom. Compared to other companies, Sony is a haven for creativity, rivaled only by a few other publishers. The problem is, this doesn't always mean the games are going to be good, though they may at times be unique.
When we get a polished game from Sony, it's because they trust that studio and they're giving it the time and money it needs. T...
Keyword: "will".
@Rainslacker:
MS can theoretically offer everything the competition offers, but we've seen that that doesn't matter if the competition has too big a hold on the market. It's easier to cheat their way into being number 1 than getting there earnestly.
