"Especially since consoles were made for gaming"
And PC is made for anything, depending on how you design your PC. By your logic it's like saying a DVD player is better than PCs because DVD players are made for movies. Well that analogy is just as bad as consoles vs PC comparison for gaming. PC is an open platform that is for whatever you intend to use a PC for. You design your machine's specs according to your intentions and needs when using a PC. That is t...
Hey, great article. I am too a PC gamer and I own all three consoles from this generation along with my gaming rig although the vast majority of my time spent on gaming is on my PC. My consoles are reserved for some of the exclusives like my PS3 for its underdog titles such as 3D Dot Game Heroes and Demon's Souls, my Wii for its good games like DKC Returns and SMG 2, and my 360 for some cross-platform titles not available on PC like RDR.
What I really like about this arti...
Oh, my bad I typed the wrong word. Yes I mean renaissance. Dunno why I typed something else. Thanks for pointing it out and bubbles+ for it.
"Wtf are you rambling on about? The fact of the matter is that soon in two more gens everything will be digital. So there will be no console just a contoller a receiver."
I wouldn't bet my money on cloud gaming as the future of gaming. Cloud gaming will have a future, but at best it'll be the Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube of gaming. Netflix streaming didn't replace DVDs, Blu Ray is doing that, and Netflix won't be able to kill BD. Rather, Netflix replac...
PC gaming is seeing a reminiscence. This is some material we PC fans can use to wave in the face of idiots that say "PC gaming is dying" but then again that would be like attempting logical dialogue with internet trolls.
In other words, it wouldn't work.
Nintendo 3DS has a Paper Mario game, a Mario Land game, and a Mario Kart game announced for the 3DS. Pokemon for 3DS is likely in the works because you need to remember they released Black & White this year. How could they also release another generation of Pokemon on the 3DS early in the life cycle?
What Nintendo did wrong was they released the system too early with all its problems. If they waited until fall when the Mario games were ready to launch, Nintendo would have...
"Cell phones have replaced what Ninny's handhelds can offer."
But can you play Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Animal Crossing, on a phone? The large fanbase of these franchises will not be satisfied with gaming on their phone instead of also buying a Nintendo system. So there will always be a large market for Nintendo in the dedicated gaming device market.
Really, all the Nintendo doom and gloom articles on this site alone are blowing things out of prop...
I really hope this additional circle pad accessory is optional per future games. I have no interest in turning my 3DS into a big bulky portable system. The battery life is bad enough like it is, this thing will make it slightly worse. Plus, it is less likely to be able to fit this into my carrying case I bought for the 3DS, or in my pocket.
"If you want to support your gaming console you buy i'ts exclusives and there is no reason to not buy then. Be ashamed of yourselves PS3 owners."
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahah ahaha...
Wow, gamers really say the darnedest things.
Do you know what else hurts the industry? Gamers buying less games and spending less money on the games they buy than they used to in the past, like myself. I used to purchase games at full retail prices and multiple games a month, but now I buy a game every 2 months and spend a maximum of $40 a game. The industry doesn't want this, but too bad, as a consumer I am not happy with what is happening.
Games are getting shorter and shorter by the year and games are also gettin...
Holy S*** now THAT is a poster!
Hopefully I will find some games of interest. None of the games from that sample list appeal to me. I am a cheap ass gamer that hunts down good games for low prices.
Who doesn't have a computer already with those accessories? Don't you realize how silly that sounds? Do you really believe every person that buys a new gaming desktop they also purchase new keyboards, mice and monitors? Really? Oh, I have more ideas. Let's throw in a new printer, a new desk, a new lamp for the desk, a new chair, even though you already have those things.
You got to be kidding.
"PC gaming is for people with more time on their hands and money in their pockets than brains in their heads."
Well thank you for your kind comment toward us PC gamers. Now excuse me if you will, I need to download some mods for my games and enjoy them for free! :D
They needed to go back to their roots. Making a game similar to FF7, 8 or 9 in terms of gameplay would be a good start. These games retain much of the elements from the original NES FF. Many of us FF fans want a game we've known FF for, a vast world to explore, not some long walk down the valley.
"Stop hating on square. They are a great company that makes great JRPG."
I don't hate Square but ever since the PS2 era they've been decent at best. The merge with Enix made things even worse. Their best effort this entire generation of gaming is remakes. Seriously, how many remakes of FFIV have they released within the past 5-6 years?
I love the underdog IPs like Demon's Souls and 3D Dot Game Heroes for the PS3. The majority of my favorite games of this generation, whether games from new IPs or already existing IPs tend to be games that have little popularity. These games feel closer to the good old days when gaming wasn't as mainstream.
As far as the games on the list are concerned, Dragon Age is my favorite (haven't played Dragon Age 2 yet). I haven't tried Two Worlds and should do so. I ...
Well yes of course the Move gets mentioned more than Kinect here on N4G. N4G does not represent a significant portion of the gaming community as a whole. Outside of N4G, Kinect sells more, and is more popular, than SONY's Move controller.
This site has a majority of SONY fans. PC fans are the largest minority, while Xbox fans are one of the smallest. Of course the Move is more popular in this corner of the interwebs.
A lot has changed with the games industry within the past 5 years. Companies are getting cocky, arrogant, selfish sons of b****es, one at a time. The vast majority of the industry is going the way of EA this generation. What a shame.
"The reason why the price drops quickly for PC games is due to the PIRATING PRICKS that all pc gamers are."
Ha, I didn't read this post until now. You've stooped down to a low for console fanboys.
Yes, we're all pirating pricks even though many of us buy our games. You're just trolling in the name of the Almighty Console Gaming. Unfortunately you've wasted a lot of time. PC fans don't care about your Console Bible.
