I would have to say no mainly because FF series is SE's golden goose. SE will never killed series so long as it remains profitable. Even if SE decided to drop FF it would just be replace by another series that they would keep popping out until your kids move out or have kids of their own.

Far as type 0 goes I heard modders were doing a translation of the game.
It would take years to make a FF7 remake. Not to mention they would have to start from scratch. The cost of the project would probably be on par with Bungie/Activision's Destiny game.

Capcom all in all got greedy, on disc dlc and ruin several of their franchises.
SE just poorly budget their games and made some poor decisions.
Well its 5million on top of the loss from titles like Sleeping Dogs and Hitman which failed to meet sale expectation. Not to mention the cost of redoing FF14, which most likely will the most costly of all things. Losses over time can do some heavy damage.
I just hope FF14 can recoup all the losses. The last thing I want to see is more titles cancels.
I doubt L4D this time around on console will be exclusive to the Xbox Platform.
Hopefully mod support will come to the console platform this time.
