"Mobile gamers (who are usually casual ones) jump and jump to what's popular."
Part whats killing Zynga. It catered to casual players and grew big but couldn't keep popping out games that would keep the casual audience attention.
Mobile gaming will never die long as iOS and Android OS exist. Given the way Apple and Android phones and tablets sells I doubt that will happen.
Boy some part of me feel like you should have left non related part out. You're kicking the hornet's nest.
Have to say they more of the new FPS rather than kart racers. People seen the success LoL and Dota and now they're hoping cash in on the same success. I have the slightest clue why Deep Silver rather make a Moba that no one asked for rather Dead Island 3.
"let’s not forget the first gaming console"
Actually Nintendo didn't introduce the first gaming console. The first gaming console would be Magnavox Odyssey. It was release May 1972. Nintendo first console, Color TV Game didn't come until 1977.
Now however my first game console was Nintendo NES. My first game handheld was a Game Boy Color. Pokemon Gold and Silver were my two favorite games and sadly the first and last two pokemon games I actually p...
@mmofanatic
While the author doesn't have say "this is the reason..." it does however makes the opinion piece look more appealing/let you see things from the author's perspective.
She needs to spend less time trying to save the world and more time taking care of my(any others who made the choice) baby. That kid got to be like 100+yrs old or something.
All jokes aside it would've cool to have Morrigan party again.
Most if not all the MMORPGs were terrible choices. Not only that author never gives any reason why he or she choose these MMORPGs. All the author did was list some mmos and gave you a basic description of the game.
@JokesOnYou
When I said "damage is already done." I don't mean Microsoft dug themselves in a hole to which they possibly can't recovery. I mean multiple things. Like I said before some people already jump ship from the whole Xbox One fiasco. Obviously this number isn't some huge percentage like 20%-30% but its still damage. Some of these people have families and friends and what do you think they will be telling their families and friends?

Before the WiiU's release Nintendo put heavy focus on the gamepad/Wii U tablet. What it can do and how it makes the system more than just a ordinary console. Its the one thing that makes the console unique(outside of games). Just as motion controls made the Wii unique. The overall situation is similar to what Microsoft is doing with Kinect 2.0 and the Xbox One.
So in a way it would be like Nintendo offering a WiiU without the gamepad.
@No_Limit
And this is how pointless argue starts. Someone state something that doesn't align with your beliefs you called them a ___ fanboy or ____ supporter. You need to understand just because someone say something that isn't Microsoft friendly it doesn't automatically means they are Sony fanboy/supporter.
Btw I owned a 360,have own several Sony products in the past, PC and Wii.
Honestly the damage is already done. Microsoft had their May conference and E3 to demonstrate the things you mention. Instead they were more focus on TV features and trying to dodge and poorly justify the DRM. Sure if they did do those things at next few conferences before launch, it might draw a few gamers but some(mainly the ones who don't care for MS exclusives) already jump ship.

Agree, 38 Studios should've asked the state for just enough money to cover KoA:R and thats it. I would've waited to see KoA:R would be profitable first. If KoA was profitable then I would've move forward with the MMO. Seeing as MMOs takes $$$ I would've pitch it a publisher or the state. No good then off to Kickstarter baby :D kidding
The state is also carries part of the blame. You don't give 50m to a studio who doesn't have a history of making big...
Curt was trying to fund a game and MMO at the same time and not some huge indie game. You can't honestly believe that 50million was for one single game. EA was the publisher for KoA:R but they didn't throw their hand in the ring with them for the MMO. Maybe because EA was already funding a MMO(SWTOR) to not care or care enough.
Destiny is being funded Activision mainly because its like a AAA MMO. We all know MMOs are one the most expensive times of games you can cre...
There was almost at least three months between Skyrim launch date and KoA launch date.
Publishers wasn't the problem with this situation. The problem the state idiotically gave this company a gigantic loan(50million USD) which the company couldn't pay back.
I could've sworn Epic said otherwise. This remind me of Crystal Dynamics how they said their games was successful then SE went on and said the game failed to meet its sale expectation.
Its like Deep Silver or Techland or w/e developed this game didn't even listen to the feedback of the first game. The is one of the first series(outside of MMOs) that I encountered so many fetch quest. It almost like there QA team are non-existent. Some of the things people encountered should've been picked up by the QA team/testers. I get that they are pushing for online co-op but they could've at least included local co-op/splitscreen.
Overall this game should...
$1,039 for that garbage, pff. $749+ will get a midrange 14in Lenovo gaming laptop.
What are the chances of Jennifer Hepler(the chick that called Hamburger Helper) will be part of the next Dragon Age?
AAA tablet games will not get console prices if they want to sell. Tablet gaming/mobile gaming is mostly mostly casual gamers. These guys(and girls) aren't willing throw $60 away for a game, unless its Candy Crush lives(kidding).
Seeing as the term AAA comes from the size of the budget of the game and not the quality of the game, I doubt you will actually see any real AAA tablet games. Publishers aren't going throw 30-50m on a tablet game. To do so would be insane...
