We don't have to choose because we own them ALL. We have access console exclusives, power of the pc, mods and crappy mobile games.

VGA/VGX never really been that good to start with imho. Sure the earlier years where Samuel L Jackson hosted and they did the skit it was somewhat good. However compared to other gaming conventions it was at the bottom imho.

DayZ is a really popular game but the sales don't prove zombies are still popular. Majority of those sales are from DayZ loyalist. These are the people that don't care if the game is still in alpha stage and plague with bugs. If anything it proves Brohemia got a strong playerbase that's willing to support them.
Looks like WarDrum just rush the Android release or simply ported the iOS version and attach a nasty DRM to it.
I'm pretty sure if all Indie developers had an exclusive deal in place to avoid the parity clause, MS would just update the agreement to prevent the loophole from being used.
Hopefully Chris Charla can turn things around for MS on the indie scene.
