ZeroG in 2 was good and made sense to be improved from 1, since time had passed and he had a new suit. So you lose that sense of time/story progression by retrofitting it into 1.
“thankfully Isaac is considerably more nimble than he used to be”
“manually steer Isaac through space, as opposed to beaming him in rigid straight lines from surface to surface”
Am I the only one who loved the movement in the original? It really felt like I was in a big heavy space-mining suit, not some fancypants flyboy. The revamped asteroid section sounds good tho, I hated that one.
Also, it is unknown how many of the X360’s were dupe buys due to RROD, so it is possible that the X1 number might actually be their entire customer base.
This does usually happen after a buyout, but to do this anywhere near the Activision deal is a real bad look. MS has deep pockets, they could afford to wait a year or 2. And if Phil was so interested in appearing to be the good guy, he would announce that he’s foregoing his bonus this year. Would be tremendous PR and earn respect among all gamers. But no, he just releases a lengthy email that says basically nothing. What a bunch of fucking assholes.
This is shitty in light of their expensive pursuit of publishers. It reminds me of when Exxon announced no raises for anybody, yet spent $1 million on relocating an old tree on their new campus. My coworkers and I were not happy campers that year.
Yeah, just like they did with Halo!
Oh wait...
So sick of hearing this bullshit about Sony destroying Sega by paying for exclusivity for one game. Here is the real history:
Sega paid Eidos to make Tomb Raider exclusive to Sega Saturn for a month. Sales were disappointing on Saturn, but excellent on PS.

Core said that Saturn could not handle the sequel, d...
^THIS.
PS’s biggest sin seems to be that they pay publishers for timed exclusives — that will still come to Xbox at a later time.
MS BUYS ENTIRE PUBLISHERS to keep ALL their developers’ games off PS — FOREVER.
Objectively, one of these approaches is merely an inconvenience, whilst the other is a shit sandwich.
Note that this does not excuse the publishers/developers, who I see as the main culprit in both these cases.
"We're not taking Call of Duty from PlayStation... That's not our intent," Spencer said. "Our intent is not to do that and as long as there's a PlayStation out there to ship to, our intent is that we'll continue to ship Call of Duty on PlayStation - similar to what we've done with Minecraft since we owned that.”
He says “intent” THREE TIMES in this quote. Weasel words don’t happen by accident; they are spoken by a lying weasel. So in futur...
For the love of God, how can you have a list of the best FPS plots and NOT HAVE HALF LIFE!!??? Is the person who wrote this 12?
Also, Resistance had probably my favorite plot of all time. The Chimera were such a mystery, and grounding it in alternate WW2 history was genius.
And how about Killzone? Not one of my faves to play, but I loved the idea of human settlements on different planets developing differently and becoming enemies.
Hear hear! “Crunch” is a universal and often necessary component of life. School, work, play- all involve it. As a person who believes in doing a job right, I have “crunched” at every company I worked for, and my own business is no exception. Your comment about “grown ass men crying” is spot on! The mediocrity warriors are trying to destroy all semblance of excellence in society.
I think in this case, these guys are passionate about this game, but you had me at Aja!
As a former project manager for a big company: there is always crunch. On every project. For a variety of reasons. *Of course* we built buffer time into the schedule, but that always gets eaten up by the “unknown unknowns.” Until humans have the ability to time travel, there will always be crunch when approaching a delivery date. I just don’t see the issue here. Seems like the people complaining want to destroy the fact that true excellence is earned, not awarded.
As a Playstation guy, split screen is something I always look for. It’s why I have lots of COD and Borderlands games, among others.
Bonnie Ross will be fired for fucking up Halo when Kathleen Kennedy is fired for fucking up Star Wars. In other words, never.
I am more of a Playstation guy, but I bought an Xbox back in the day just so me and my kids could play all the Halo games together. Not having split screen is blasphemy.
And since we’re on the topic, Bungie should be ashamed of themselves for not having split screen in Destiny.
No PS3 list is complete without Resistance
Hey, its the actor for Aloy!
female privilege
This. I bought a PS3 just for Resistance and was not disappointed. Got me back into gaming as an adult.
I am glad this is getting good reviews and doing well - personally I think it will have great legs- but I just have to say:
FUCK EA! They shut down Visceral bc they sold 4 millions instead of 5, now they come back and remake the first game!? What assholes!
