It’s entirely possible. Remember Nokia?
This raises the total Xbox layoffs since ACTI announcement to 11,900.
“Move along, nothing to see here”
Guess I’ll never know then ;)
True- all it takes is looking at your bank statements, yet there is a cottage industry around “finding out” what subscriptions you have, like RocketMoney.
On topic, it means MS have a few years’ worth of good to great games before they run these devs into the ground as well. Just going by their historical MO.
The author says 2023 was an “incredible” year for gaming, without giving any evidence as to why.
Then he states definitively that Rift Apart was a commercial disappointment, but links to an article that conjectures it *might* have been.
Finally he goes on to talk about a couple of mediocre games for some reason. Is this his proof for 2023 being “incredible”?
I give the article an F: poorly written, disingenuous and unconvincing.
@pete
I read that IGN article you linked, and nowhere does it mention “price parity,” console cut, or anything of the sort. Just a clause in the Sony contract not to make the RE Village game worse on PS. Stop making shit up.
Jet Set Overdrive, let’s GOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! ;)
shut up and take my money!!!!! ;)
And what’s with their obsession with the word “No”?
Tried to access the article, got a PHP error page. Searched the web, found nothing more than the statement referenced above:
“We have a service that is financially viable, meaning it makes money, in Game Pass”
I call BS. He never actually used the word “profitable,” just weasel words like “makes money,” which can also be legally interpreted as revenue, not profit. The “profitable” word was inserted into the summary by the wishful minds at vgc.
“If they don't act as a monopoly”
AAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!! !!
…thanks, I needed a good laugh!
“But seriously I don't have an Xbox but let them have a couple of games champ.”
I don’t think Sony is in any hurry to fund games on their competitor’s platform, especially when said competitor is actively paying $70 billion+ just to keep games off of Sony’s platform.
Yes! And it’s currently the 17th most played game on Xbox right now, so totally on fire!
(per this article: https://newzoo.com/resource...
Really? In your attempt to counter the “MS takes from gamers” point, you have to go all the way back to 2005?
Not exactly a strong counterpoint…
Yes! the old store had these, I would rely on them to decide which gane to buy. Bout damn time!
Yes, but what about the “unannounced” Japanese games? MS has long been the leader in vapourware, could this be more of the same?
While I mostly agree with you, I feel like there is room for both. If they come up with a GAAS that gives them a money stream that they can then reinvest into singleplayer hits, I am all for it!
“Boulder's Gate 3” WTF!?
^THIS. THIS SO MUCH
My kids and I had a fun time in Tokyo Jungle!
Why is this article being hidden? Its 850 and the top four max out at 360. Same thing happened to the “ Microsoft announces layoffs at gaming division” article, it’s 980 but completely hidden. Is there an MS defender on staff?
