Ok, I loved to hate Jack, but it needs to be said: it made no sense to kill off Roland when New U stations exist. Just a huge plot hole in a story that took itself way too seriously. Also the guns felt like toys. My opinion, they peaked with BL1.

Slightly offtopic, but where did Resistance 3 go? I was hoping Sony would add 1 & 2 to the classics catalog, but now 3 appears to be gone.

My theory is that they bought ABK to make COD etc exclusive (see Bethesda/Starfield). Then when the tide of public opinion turned against them, they panicked and committed to at least a decade of multiplat.
COD was going to be the big stick with which they finally beat the masses into submission to Xbox. They depended on it, bc multiple generations of their own hardware ecosystem failed to grow their core audience beyond a subset of US and UK gamers. So now that the stick h...

Well, the hope would be that they stop trying to make Halo like COD now that they own both. Go third party, drop the console (MS is supposed to be a software company after all), and concentrate on making Halo Halo (go hard into the scifi power fantasy) and COD COD (strip away anything scifi and ground the hell out of it). And while they’re at it, add third-person option to both.

Agree; however, to be fair you left out the part where the developers whore themselves out to the publishing company in the first place. When you sell yourself to the highest bidder, you can’t complain when you no longer can do what you want to do.
In other words, FromSoft is kicking ass; other Kadokawa game companies, not so much.

Well, MS bought Bungie to get Halo (and shut down the Mac version), which is a big reason they were as successful as they were. And the PS3 actually outpaced the 360, which is why it eventually outsold it despite releasing more than a year later. So really, not much has changed if you think about it.

How did you like gunplay in 1? Personally that one feels the best to me, and I honestly like gun proficiency much better than badass points. But I do agree that 3 feels a lot better than 2.
Not a fan of how fast stacks decay tho, anarchy stacks were great in 2.
