If it was used STRICTLY for accessing region locked games, I really don't see the harm in it, but if it's in fact a way to pirate games I wouldn't do it. I admit that there are a few games I'd like to get my hands on and play right now, two being Project X Zone and Bravely Default. This wouldn't even be news if Nintendo would just release these games via download eShop or even a physical copy!
One month later and all I've been able to beat is AC:III. In total I have AC:III, NSMB U, Trine 2, Zombie U, COD:BO2, Nintendo Land, DarkSiders:2, Ninja Gaiden:3, and Little Infernal. I'm really enjoying Zombie U and it's a pleasant surprise that a game being a launch title, on a Nintendo console, is so damn good. Man I want this game! My only problem is deciding which version to get first, for the Wii U or 3DS XL? I know ones HD and the other is 3D one is local MP while the other is online. It should be a no brainer, but I'm truly torn apart on which version to get.
Xbox looks about the right size but I'm a little worried if the PS4 is really that compact. Either way both look sexy and will be mine!
@Miz TV: When you play single player campaign, the GamePad doesn't really do much but show you what objectives need to be met, sort of like an after thought which is a shame. But when it comes to MP, your able to do a few neat things with the GamePad. If your playing online by yourself, you have your a scoreboard right on the GamePad which is cool but not really needed; the cool features are when your using the Pro controller or Wii Remote/Nun-chuck, and have the GamePad set under your TV...
Yes it is! It isn't locked at 60 and dips a little in the campaign when a lot is going on, but multiplayer is 60fps! The best part is that the MP mode achieves 60fps with two screens displaying completely different perceptives on each, while playing online at the same time. One of my favorite consoles ever made, it changed gaming and had some of the best titles ever created. I just wish that Sony focused on all the great Japanese games that made the PS2 the best selling home console ever to see the light of day... Ico, Shadow, all the FF, Valkyrie Profile 2, etc, even games like Red faction, Time Splitters, and GTA were so evolutionary... Everything was great on there!
Yea, the 3DS was struggling in the UK as well, look how that turned around... It's going to do well in most parts of the world but like all things it will struggle in other parts as well. Nintendo will just have to focus on different marketing strategies and possibly a different price in the UK if it continues on. When the going gets tough, Nintendo knows how to climb up when pushed so it shouldn't be too much of a concern.

You could already do this on Wii U and other browsers that support htlm5. (xhamster) anyone? I would never pay for a subscription when sights like these exist, in HD too! The cool part is that the Wii U browser allows you to watch on the TV and brows on the Gamepad while its playing a video, or you could pull a curtain up and watch it all on the Gamepad in private, so no one can see what your watching, ha ha. Works flawlessly!
Based on the numbers I'm leaning towards option 2. The Wii U has nearly sold 2 million consoles in 4 weeks, that's pretty damn good despite all the negative articles and people saying it isn't selling. It's also good because most people said that nobody (including the casual gamer), wanted the Wii U. I guess that isn't true at this point, but then again things can change for better or worse after the holidays... I guess we'll see!
If next gen has a price tag between $299.99-399.99 it wont really bother me, but if both the PS4 and next XBOX are $399 and up then yes it will bother me because in this day and age you could build a really good PC for about $500 and up maybe less!
Yea I'm sure they just got a shipment in and just stocked it too. Both Fed-ex and UPS dropped off a shipment of Wii U's while I was at GameStop and I seen them heading across the plaza towards target, Best buy, etc... Nintendo said that they would keep em stocked throughout the holiday and they weren't playing!
Really great numbers! There is no doubting that it will be a success, I just hope that Nintendo unveils more support in the coming months. If the numbers continue to grow, the install base will be healthy enough for almost all major third-party developers to support it, comfortably of course. The 3DS XL has the better battery life between at off them.
There are of course a couple of things that can be addressed, such as adding servers but Dark Souls enhanced a lot of what Demon's Souls couldn't.
