If anything I would of thought the opposite that the 360 would of lost because people were waiting for the price drop to hit Sept 5. Like Death said the official big price drop won't be reflected in these numbers.

Has anyone seen the other commericals where they have people on hidden camera trying out the new Windows? I think those are more effective and don't seem to get the press the Seinfeld and Gates commercials do. Some people think MS spent all that money just for these commercials when they are just part of a larger marketing campaign.

Again, the Arcade model is not directed at the hard core(the people that read N4G) it is directed at the moms and pops who can't find a Wii or want to take the next casual step up in gaming machines. Many of these people might not even have an internet connection let alone want to connect online, download movies and all the things that require a hard drive. You can buy a $199 machine and a game and go home and play it with nothing additional required.

Let me tell you a story, but I won't be annoying and type in all caps.
I own a 360 and it has many many hours of use and it runs absolutely great and while I think the PS3 is good I don't feel the need to own one yet because the 360 is supplying me with all the gaming goodness I need.
@1.5: Do you keep that in a text file on your desktop?? I've seen you post that identical list in several different threads.
You should send it to the recycle bin because it's a dumb list. RROD sure is a problem for MS and Blu-ray is a great advantage to Sony but the rest of that list is opinion/questionable. The last one is my favorite, do you have a link posted to an article where the XBOX 360 burned down a house? I'd love to read that.
Thank you Darth! These people seem to think the arcade is directed at the hardcore when it is not. It is for the people who might not even have an internet connection to play online or just want to buy 1 or 2 games and have fun which you can do for $199.

If you want to have all that stuff. But don't deny the fact that I can go to a store and buy a 360 for $199 and go home and enjoy HD gaming. The $199 sku isn't for gamers that visit this site(hardcore) they are for the mom and pops who can't find a Wii or who want to take the next step in gaming beyond the Wii at a reasonable price.
Even if Kojima had a rockstar like party in USA, hell even if he would of had MGS Mountain Dew. HIS PRODUCT LIVED UP TO THE HYPE!
I don't mind the hype machine as long as the game lives up to it in the end.

Those 2 consoles seem to be the focus with the "console war" and I'm sure it's part fanboy as well. But Sony has nothing to be ashamed of I didn't even catch that incredible number of PSP's Sony moved.

None of the 3 should feel bad about these numbers because August is typically slow for sales and they are all doing gangbusters. Our favorite hobby is growing like crazy and we all have a reason to celebrate that.
