why would it be a disappointment? for a game to come back from releasing a 'meh' first one, to selling as good as this one and being declared in many cases the best FPS of this gen is great. MGS4, GT are established brands and well loved - they were expected to sell well based on previous versions of the game
I don't think its a problem GG releasing a patch, so long as it DOES NOT affect the current set up, you cannot penalise millions because of a handful of people who can't play it.
What people fault o understand is, the whilst halo is 2 years old that doesn't mean anything. It's the point at which the games were released in the consoles life cycle that matters, and that is how it should be based.
Xbox 360 is Microsoft's direct competition with Sony's PS3, regardless of when they were released, so for example if KZ2 and Halo 3 were both released in year 2 of the consoles life, then its a worthy comparison as its showing what the devs are getting out of the console...

Well, finally it arrived, I had a few goes on multiplayer with bots to get used to the controls, and now am addicted to multiplayer. Everything about it blows me away, I agree with Fishy, best console game to date - and personally, no prob with controls, popping off helmets at 90 odd metres yesterday! :) (i'm still not as good as the others though)

I hope my comment doesn't seem to fanboyoish, but to me it looks (not just from this comments, but recent news) as if 360 feels it cant compete with the high end of console gaming, as in its hit it's 'peak' if you like, so its now going for cheap and cheerful...i.e. wii

I don't know about anybody else, but I feel Sony are on a real buzz at the moment, a real roll....it just seems announcement after announcement, and with great games launching at the same time

But, for those that do rely on metacritic, it is a shame that such an amazing game has been bought down by two 70/100 marks, just sad really.

It really is isn't it, ignoring all the fanboys about being in 3rd bla bla bla, to sell over 12 million consoles at thier peak prices is one hell of an acheivment, there is no questioning that.
Just coming up to the end of year 2 for the console (UK), with an immense line up of 1st and 3rd party games, a price drop would no doubt really get the sales rolling...

Hi, i'm the internet, and I love the killzone 2 demo.
Do people really just play for ranks? do people not play multiplayer because its fun?
I mean sure, I love ranking up, getting ribbons what not, but once that's done surely its still fun to play?? People who are at max rank etc must play alot, I guess I dont play as much as alot of people so I dont progress as quick - oh and I'm probably rubbish at it!
I wander when they'll be bringing new maps out, i think that adds alot of value, playing new areas
