As long as it isn't a huge huge console size of the ps3 at most and considering it probably won't be due to it's use of mobile cpus, i'll be perfectly okay with it.
Oddly enough i always wanted to try it XD
Why? i just don't get why it's a great controller. Some people like the position of everything on it, some like the 360 pad. Personally i like the 360, but i can understand why people like the ps3 one. Getting rid of the dual shock would be like nintendo getting rid of the nintendo dpad for the 360 dpad.
It comes out this year i think it's safe to say it's pretty close to final design.
It's more a sensor than a kinect it just tracks the controller with 2 cameras to provide a better tracking
The one issue i have is they don't have ridges under the analog, i had alot of issues with the ps3 controller activating stuff during movies when i sit the controller down as it would press the trigger in a bit, but other than that it looks almost perfect.
I was look at the photos and i just realized the r2/l2 buttons still don't have a ridge under them to avoid accident presses when you put it on the table, like the ps3 controller had. O.o that was one of the things i'd hope they'd fix
I'm kinda worried about the touch pad, it won't be as accurate as a screen as it doesn't show visual feedback like a touch screen would do. As long as they keep it to a minimum, i think it looks like a great controller non the less. Although i wish they would have shown a demo for the touch pad. Otherwise sony sold me on everything else.
@Godmars290 It will be included, why put functionality into the controller just to disable it, so they could make a few bucks on the side. I don't think sony would do that. Now my main question is will it track the move controller, the two cameras could help tracking improve.
Edit: (double Post)
Lets be honest it was an attempt at money, a simple micro sd would have done fine and they could have formatted it so it couldn't have been used on computers. The thing that sucks even worst is that most games they are required, which is ridiculous for a cart based system. I love my vita, but its memory card prices are ridiculous considering the tech is probably a smaller version of a micro sd.
Very few games get the difficulty choice right, goldeneye 007 (n64/wii) both had different objectives each one more difficult with the choices. Alot of games seem to just through more grenades or something cheap, that isn't difficulty it's just plain fustrations.
So far it sounds like they have, the architecture sounds like it there for devs. The Online sounds like it will be more social, so it will probably compete with xbox live very favorably. Price might be a factor when it comes too the ps4, but i doubt sony would try to pull a ps3 price point again.
The D's aliens is a pretty good metroid like game so there is that
There have been hundreds of disappointing games and no one is required to give the money back. Everyone got tricked and its not the first time it's happened.
And with nintendo's new policy they don't even need to have a public office. Wii u is gonna be like the dreamcast, with inovative thoughtful games because of the indies, except it will be successful.
I'd like to see a return, but unfortunately activision killed it off for anybody who tried to be innovative with the formula ala harmonics.
I think microsoft is going to have to try this gen. This gen i think most of their success came due to the fact they came out first and people had xbl, so when it came down to choosing a console people went were their friends went. They need to go back to what made the original xbox a good console imo. They need to create new ips, or atleast bring back some they didn't bring over from the original xbox, blinx, conker, Grabbed by ghoulies, Crimson skys, and numerous rare character's the...
Its really important to me I've brought the Xbox 360 and Wii just for support of my old titles. I bought my ps3 used as it supported it as well and the fact I think it genuinely looks better then newer ps3s.
Everytime i hear about the cpu it makes me think of atari XD
