If these Japanese voices will be optional in the Western release(s) of the game, it will definitely be a Day 1 for me.

I'd rather see a Disney kart-racer. Or better yet, a Disney vs Square Kart-racer.

Weird, seems like half my original comment was somehow lost when/after posting it, but I believe there was originally more that I wrote (sent it from mobile while waiting for my food to arrive yesterday). Anyway, technically almost flawless, soundtrack fitting, voice-acting (mostly) excellent, and it's a world that rewards you for just being there, with so much wildlife, activities like hunting & fishing, some mysteries, etc.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ass Creed...

There have only been a handful of 2018 games I've played, so I wouldn't be surprised if my choice for GOTY 2018 changes after I played some of the others, but from those I played, I have to go with Red Dead 2. Amazing detailed and convincing world, which is fun to drop into and just experience and enjoy what it has to offer. It's not perfect, and if your goal is to just rush through it, you'll never fully appreciate it, but it's simply an experience in a seting we are rare...

Probably Microsoft showing a clear intent of putting their focus back on core-gaming, by buying a bunch of studios, and the news that the talented Forza Horizon studio is working on a non-racing title (probably a new Fable).

It's no secret Microsoft lost its way halfway through the 360's lifespan, and Sony seized that opportunity at the end of last gen, and certainly coming into current gen. MS made a whole bunch of terrible decisions, like wanting to force-feed Kin...

What's fun for you might be different than what's fun for me. You might have fun drinking and dancing and partying, and I'd hate that, and would have far more fun at home, alone on the couch, watching a good movie and having some chocolate nuts & raisins.

I have fun in a game like Rocket League, but I'm also enjoying/having fun in RDR2's world. So yeah, the game is fun, for me.

Well, I wouldn't say both would have won any other year this gen 'with ease'. Just last year, we had Mario Odyssey, Zelda BotW, Persona 4, Nier, Horizon Zero Dawn, Divinity Original Sin 2, Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

We've had a nice couple of years :)

Got it day one. Half-way through. Loving the experience whenever I dive in, which is why I'm taking my time with it, enjoying the world, exploring, hunting, fishing, discovering. I'll make my own little missions, like go catch a legendary animal, or finding a special horse.

I think if you try to rush through it, you'd be frustrated by the slow pace, and if you only care about action and mayhem, this won't be the game for you.

If you can a...

The combat in Spider-Man is really nice, especially once you unlock more abilities and gadgets.

That said, I feel the game as a whole (story, gameplay, world) is nowhere near as impressive as the Arkham games were. Those made a much larger impression on me, felt more important, epic, whatever.

Spider-Man has an 'okay' story, but I found the city to be a bit boring, and a lot of the gameplay repeats itself. Once you're finished with the game, t...

Looking forward to Tunic (XBO), Ghost of Tsushima (PS4), and possibly Nioh 2 (multi).

Tunic looks amazing.

Well, has to be Kingdom Hearts 3 for me.

The game looks absolutely amazing. A Disney/SE hybrid dream come true.

Sadly, in 2018/2019, Square-Enix still decides it's okay to butcher/leave out the original Japanese voices from a game, and to only offer the English dub to their Western customers (and perhaps it might include dubs in German, French, Spanish: I have no idea, and TBH, I really don't care...).

So that's a huge disap...

Sales in the EU PS store usually drop on Wednesday.

The XBOX marketplace is also a bit quiet/disappointing at the moment, concerning sales. Was hoping to pick up a few 'indies' to play during the holidays.

Yeah, I'll have to go with SIE Japan Studio.

They've been involved with quite a few important and iconic titles for Playstation 4. Games like Bloodborne, Gravity Rush 1/2, Shadow of the Colossus Remake, Everybody's Gold, Astro Bot. They've been making sure the PS4 has a very varied line-up, and these are the kind of games that add up when you look at what makes a console special. They invest in games that are outside mainstream, the pushed boundaries, they ...

Yeah, they're one of the biggest companies in gaming, yet they don't seem to have anyone in charge who understands what gamers want.

Was playing SSX3 a few nights ago again on XBO X. A classic. Why? Because it knows it's a videogame. It's focussed on being fun & challenging and beautiful.

Nowadays, if EA would make a new SSX, it would be focussed on a whole lot of things, but few of them would be about.simply being a great, fun, gorgeo...

Has to go to EA for me. Not because of 'broken promises' so much, and also not because of Battlefield 5 or Battlefront 2.

No, instead of broken promises, it's more about just how disappointing they've been this generation considering the potential they have.

This is the company that once released games like SSX3, Skate 3, Burnout 3, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, Jade Empire, NBA Street 3, Def Jam Fight for New York, Sim City 4, original Mirr...

Well, New York is a grid-based, very flat city. So there are no curves, no dips and heights, no 'flow', etc etc. Its architecture is mostly boring brown and grey mid-height buildings, with a few special ones in-between.

Compare it to cities like Rio de Janeiro, Hong Kong, Seoul, Taipei, Kyoto, etc etc, which have mountains, greens, many different building styles from different eras, curving roads, old and new, and there really is no comparison. Even within the USA, ...

Seems like something that could be fixed in time.

That said, I've been playing it on XBO X on my 1080p Panasonic Plasma, and it already looks stunning without HDR.

I wouldn't mind my child seeing nipples in a game/movie. No child has ever died from seeing some breasts.

I wouldn't let them play a censored game or watch a censored movie/anime/cartoon/whatever, for the simple fact I don't believe in censorship, and won't support it.

The selective outrage over nudity/sex in entertainment, while extreme gore/violence is widely accepted, is beyond ridiculous and pathetic.
