... but it sure does seem that way. It was great though, gameplay-wise. But graphically I'd like to see Sega raise the bar.

I'd like to see Sega take inspiration from Revenge of Shinobi (Genesis), which was the best Shinobi game.

I think a Shenmue 3, when made in the way I proposed, would sell REALLY well. It can bring in fans of the sandbox-genre, but also fans of JRPG's, fans of collect'M'alls (Shenmue had cool 'toys' you could collect), fans of fighting games ...

... I have a whole closet full of bought games, from the early 16 bit era (Genesis/SNES) to the current games.

...but with all the DLC-scamming by developers, paying for 'themes' and gamerpics, DRM, overcharging western gamers for stuff that's less than half that price when bought in Hong Kong (Hello 60 euro DS3 from Sony, that's 27 euro in Hong Kong!!!), overexpensive hardware (Hello wireless LAN dongle and harddrives from Microsoft!!!), ridiculous prices for new games (Banjo...

I absolutely LOVEDDDDDD Sega. Sonic the Hedgehog 1 and 2 are still getting regular playtime on my PSP. The Dreamcast was amazing. Virtua Fighter 2 and Afterburner 2 robbed me off ALOT of money.

But nowadays, these are hard times for an old Sega-fan. Every new Sonic games seems to be worst than the last one (which is quite an achievement), Sega Rally 3 and Virtua Tennis 3 failed to really impress, Virtua Fighter 5 seems like such a long time ago, and there really isnt any intere...

... I'm sure the game in itself is pretty good. it's gotten pretty decent reviews. That's not the issue.

Truth is, however, that I'm not gonna give my money to developers that are trying to scam me out of extra money with BS that could (and thus should) have been in the retailversion that's already costing 60 euro(!).

Dead Space could be sold for 10 bucks in the store, and I still wouldnt buy it. I'm not going to support these kind of developers in any way, shap...

... it's beyond sad.

You'd think Microsoft would try to offer stuff for free to keep reminding gamers what a good service Xbox Live actually is (when it works), cause TBH, Microsoft is really pushing the limits on how to treat it's loyal customers...

... Dead Space is the current prime example of how bad DLC scamming has become. It's beyond ridiculous.

Anyway, a game that looked interesting to me, has ruined any potential chance of me buying that game, because of this kinda crap. Dead Space will never ever enter this house. Nor will any other game that abuses DLC like this.

I fear for what EA will do with all their other potentially great games that will be coming out in the near future. Skate 2, Fight Night ...

... you need to get yourself Comprehensive Reading for Dummies.

I said the Wii, just like the Cube and the N64 before it, lack a good variety and choice. There arent enough good games out for it, and they dont cover the basic genres well enough.

... enough with the DLC and micro-transactions etc already(!)

Paying for themes!? Has the industry really sank this low now?
I guess it has. Such a shame.

BTW, who exactly ARE the idiots that are buying this stuff, and thus keeping this practice alive!?

... most of the 'gamers' were already disappointed by Nintendo with the poor software support for the N64 and later the poor software support for the Gamecube.

Both systems had some absolutely great games, but let's be honest... it's primarily the Nintendo games that are worth buying on the Nintendo systems. The 3rd party support for Nintendo's consoles has been pretty bad.
Gamers want to have a lot of choice in a lot of different genres. Nintendo's consoles dont offer...

The free one looks cool as well btw. Will get that one, obviously.

I LOVE LBP, but the DLC milking really isnt my thing.

"This announcements comes on the 15 year anniversay of the series and will introduce completely overhauled graphics. According to Ignition, the spirates that have been used over the past 14 years have been dropped and replaced with "new 2D high definition, high resolution sprites, on detailed 2D backgrounds, drawn 100% by hand."

Awesome! And judging from the few videos we've seen, it really looks impressive and truly sets the new standard for 2d sprite-based figh...

I've said it before and I've said it again: the best Sonic games in history are the first 2 Megadrive games, and Sonic CD. That's it.

They need to just make a 2d-sprite-based Sonic platformer (not a racer like all these current titles seem to be) in the spirit of those first few games. That's all.

It would look dropdead gorgeous in HD 2d sprite-based graphics, and 2d platforming was always a great genre, so I have no idea why they traded that in for 3d platformi...

Like I'm interested in buying a game with a lame english dub(!) We're not in the 80's anymore.

... very simple.

When the developers are already announcing to release more DLC right after the game comes out, I just completely lose interest, cause it feels like you're being ripped off.
Just take a look at the DLC for the recently released Dead Space. It's ridiculous.

Games I was potentially interested in, I am not interested in any longer. Might buy some of them a year or 2 later, when they release the game and all the content in 1 nice little package...

... plus in some games, they 'Barbied' her op a little too much. Her face looks TOO soft, smooth and 'cute'.
I prefer a little roughness and toughness to my Lara.

A shame btw that IGN didnt include the Tomb Raider movies, the comics, and the bunch of Lara 'models' to make the whole article 'complete'.

Angelina Jolie made for a perfect Lara, before she turned into the alien-faced stickfigure she is today.

... but this game looks BAD.

Bland boring backgrounds, some crappy sprites, and the same choppy animation that was already pretty mediocre 15 years ago.

I LOVED the idea of a next-gen HD remake of Street Fighter 2.

This.... is NOT how it should be done.

I'll be keeping an eye out on the new 2d HD King of Fighters, which DOES look like it will deliver a truly great next-gen, HD sprite-based, experience.

Such a shame t...
