... cause now everyone who sees you running around in that shirt, will know you are that 1 douchebag that actually pays money for in-game virtual content, which basically makes you a really important part of the problem.
"And why not!?"
'Principles'! Ever heard of them!?
If some brand wants these avatars to run around as free advertisements for their real-life products, they should just offer that virtual stuff for FREE.
I'm not gonna p...
... but I noticed last night that the clothes were 75 eurocent a piece, so that's twice as much as what they're charging americans(!)
Awwww... SCEE.... what will you think of next!? (!)
... and let's see how many of these kids were raised catholic and believe in God!?
Most of them??? Wow(!) I guess that's where the problem must be...
If kids are abusing animals, or other kids, or whatever, it's because of lousy parenting!
... I was afraid that we would only get the beard-and-hat next week, but the tree-wearing Sackboy looks cool as well!
Thanks MM!!!!!
... that could turn out good, or very very bad.
... ah well... it was fun for about an hour. Pretty small, and I certainly wont be doing any micro-transactions.
The few locations that are in there, look nice. I played 1 game of pool and that was fun. Not really tried bowling yet.
I dont think I'll visit HOME often. It's a fun 'toy' and to showcase when friends come over, but it has to offer a whole lot more before you'll really go in for a few hours and have 'fun' in that virtual playground.
Rig...
... and it's cool, it looks nice, but there's no way in hell that I'll be buying virtual stuff. :)
The avatar-creator is a bit limited though. Not enough clothes and the face-creator isnt as good as Tiger Woods' gameface engine, sadly.
edit:
1: I already ran into some douchebag who bought clothes(!) How lame is that!?
2: The avatar is wayyy to slow to really move around at a decent pace in HOME. The slow running is annoying and should be sped up.
... I dont agree with the following complaints though:
1: the writer complains about the cops not upholding the law when you're driving through red lights.
He has a point, but the whole point of gaming is to be able to enjoy it and get on with the goals at hand. If you would get cops chasing you each and every time you had a very small offense, the game would be more realistic, but a whole lot less FUN, and a whole lot more annoying!
2: The writer complain...
... and I still buy the manga of Dragon Ball and Dr. Slump.
However, I cant even put myself to watching this free short trailer. If that isnt an indication about how bad this movie if going to flop, I dont know what is.
They should have just made a new anime-movie, and if they didnt want to do that, they should have made this in CGI, and even if that was too much to ask for, they should have used ASIAN actors instead of white B-actors in ridiculous make-up and ou...
... and after that, connection fails. Great stuff(!)
I dont see why we cant create the avatars OFFLINE, so we could at least already be doing that while we wait for the online to work.
... we're used to it by now. We just lube it in and bend over, waiting for the next announcement from SCEE...
... such a gorgeous city, such great controls, such fantastic characters and a mature story, such good voice-acting and a huge and fun soundtrack, and such an immersive world.
Yeah, it isnt as 'fun' as some other sandbox games, but it doesnt have to be. GTA4 isnt trying to do that. It offers a different kind of experience in the sandbox-genre, a new one, and it does a great job at it. Amazing achievement.
LBP is a close 2nd for me. I love it a whole lot, but it's...
... and the outfit looks cool as hell.
Just disappointed that they're stretching it out over 2 weeks.
... but why stretch the Santa outfit out over 2 weeks, instead of just giving us the complete outfit this week, and a new free one next week!?
This just means that we already know what next week's free update will be, which is basically just something they could have already given us this week.
Seems a bit unneccesary to stretch it out like that. :(
... it's very nice to see some e-tailers and shops offering very nice offers, to make it easier for us consumers.
That being said, a new game here in Holland costs 60 euro, and with all the DLC-scamming that comes with that, I pretty much never ever buy a game full price anymore anyway.
I cant believe Call of Duty 4 is STILL 60 euro in most places. I've been waiting for a price-drop for ages for that game, but TBH, I dont think I'll bother anymore.
... but with all list, I disagree on a few points.
I prefer the Alpha series when it comes to Street Fighter, not just because of gameplay but also because of roster and style/design.
I feel Soul Calibur deserves to be higher up on the list.
And Def Jam; Fight for New York is one of the best and most fun fighters EVER. Yes it has some flaws, but that's mostly in the story-mode (which is still much much better than most fighters' single player expe...
Most of the downloads are from people who wouldnt be buying the game anyway, and just download it to quickly check it out.
Also, it isnt piracy that is killing the industry: It's the developers and their whole attitude towards the consumer.
Would I wanna buy a product from a company that will come running after me when I just bought their product and left the store, just so it can sell me additional stuff that probably could and should have already been included ...
.... seeing if and how it will work on their hardware, any conflicts, any bugs, if it runs smoothly, etc.
With a console game, you just read reviews and pretty much everyone's experience is the same, when it comes to these issues. With a PC, you just never know for sure. So people download the game to check it out first.
Obviously, many people who download it will never pay for the game. Either they will just play the pirate cause it's a better version than the o...
.... while knowing absolutely NOTHING about it.
Incredible that once again the blame gets shifted from the bad parents to a videogame that shouldnt even be played by kids in the first place(!) Incredible, yet sadly hardly surprising anymore.
On related news: I hear reading comicbooks will turn our children into coldblooded serialkilling communists who eat babies and puppies!
.... but apparently, on this site, rational people like us are a minority :P
