first. did you own a WiiU, if not you can't claim a game is old. No one bought a WIIU so for all intents these are new games. Also Zelda is a cross gen game, not a port. Last of Us is a port, Madden 2013 is not.
Now even if you take Zelda and Mariokart out of it, it is still a better first year

my math might be off. but then that means in 4 months ps4 only sold 5.6mil consoles. That was without the noted stock shortages that the Switch has had, and THROUGH A CHRISTMAS SEASON.
So given all that it sold 4.7 compared to the Ps4s 5.6

Yeah, I've had mine almost a week and was a bit disappointed by no mario 3, or super mario world on there. I waited until yesterday to start playing Zelda (which is amazing) because during the work week I didn't have the time to invest in long gaming sessions. Would love some arcady classics to play in short bursts after work or during my lunch break

I couldn't care less about twitch shooter games, and THAT and sports games are the only 3rd party type of support it will be lacking.
As we already have seen, it is getting a ton of indy support in the the retro style. River City Rampage, and Golf Story just to name 2 awesome ones.
And there is no denying that the 3rd party content will boom in the next couple years as the companies that mostly support the 3...
As a new switch owner I can tell you the power is not noticeable when you got it in your hands and are enjoying playing Zelda while relaxing in the tub or in the car.
Zelda is better than any game xbox has made hands down, and few could be held up even on the ps4 (horizon and last of us and uncharted)

hows it a question. We already know there is a Metroid and a Pokemon at the very least set for 2018. As said Nintendo IPs don't do much for me, but I would not be surprised to see a Donkey Kong and F Zero game also coming in 2018
I agree. I was very against the switch post announcement, pre release. I felt it was a bad system because of some of the legit shortcomings like little hard drive space and the lower level of power.
Then it launched and I saw what people were saying about Zelda, and it peaked my interest, but still wasn't something worth the investment. I don't care much about nintendo IPs. I don't play cart games and don't play 3d platformers...

I look at a system and go hmm what games does it have that I want. still to this day xbox has only released 2 games I want to play that I can't play on playstation (sunset overdrive and we happy few) It takes more that 2 games to sell a console, with both Playstation and Nintendo I was sold with 2 simply because I knew that there was more coming down the line too. ...

Well not to get in between you two, but he clearly is referring to the marvel initiative to change gender, race, or sexual preference of all their characters to appease the social justice people. With that said I haven't noticed any of those practices in gaming and think the more the merrier, but that better not be your selling point because as Ghostbusters learned a gender swap is no replacement for sound writing
The WiiU doesn't exist so these games are not ports, but new masterpieces. And not only that, 2 new IP with arms and mario rabbids, and that isn't even counting 12switch and snipperclips.
Clearly the switch is the system to get this year not the 1x that only adds a bit more gloss
Got a switch on Saturday. Got Zelda but waiting till my workweek is done before I try it out. Was disappointed that they didn't have nes games for download. Would love mario 3 for a quick pick up game during lunchbreaks...
How many games do you buy a year? Me I buy maybe 3. So far this year I've bought Horizon Zero Dawn. Have Hot Shots Preordered and that would of likely been my year in gaming if I didn't fall in love with the reveal for Mario + Rabbids. It can't be a success. First they have no real first party developers. So no compelling exclusives. Second they're brand is poison, and are credited with destroying the gaming industry. Third their IPs are trash, the few classics people DO fondly remember aren't owned by them, such as Pac man (namco) and pitfall (activision)
Patcher is right. To a consumer, a "casual" they see a ps4 pro and go "oh for 100 more I can get a more powerful version", but with the XboxX its, "what this is double the price!"
To the hardcore only means to ppl who already have an xbox1... yet they are selling it at a loss, so how will this in any way benefit MS? A terrible idea just for "most powa" bragging rights
I already have more games on my want list for the year on the Switch than on the PS4. It may not have the big 3rd party games, but outside of a new bioshock, fallout, or Knights of the Old Republic I couldn't care less. Not many 3rd party games ever appealed to me.
