hmm, interesting. 360, using their hindsight timeline, is about to get a big boost when Kinect "launches". But so is X1 when Scorpio comes.
@observer I'm sure that was either a mistake or a joke. You're comparing X1 supposed worldwide lifetime sales against 360's NA sales? I mean sure it makes your case for X1 selling half of 360's sales in 1/3 the time, but you're pulling an apples and oranges comparison there. Using just NA sales for the X1 as well as the 360, it's 18 to 56. And that's less than 1/3.
All that said, maybe don't be so quick to call people idiots and insult their math...
I saw two or three on the shelf when I was at target yesterday.
Not that it's a bad thing. Shows they put out a decent supply.
I tend to believe that bit about the X1 seeing as MS has stopped touting that it's outpacing the 360. Grain of salt of course.
Halo can't be stale because it's fans will never be stale. or something.
I don't think that's how math works...
that'd be a mini hornet's nest. It was already just normal dlc before, now much closer to full game. If they pull a collector's edition, that would be sticking it to the most loyal of their fans, the ones that bought the deluxe edition on just the promise of something coming. Now they'd have to buy it again to get the collector's edition.
You're that big a fan and didn't buy the deluxe edition when this came with it?
Not listed there but for any PSVR owners that have their eye on farpoint, amazon has the game plus PSaim controller on preorder for $60 instead of $80.
Match the PS2? not likely. it would have to more than double the sales it currently has in just 2 or 3 years before PS5 comes. It will be one of the few to break the 100 million threshold though.
most ps4 gamers? or a few fanboys?
you made a great, very valid point. you were just overly defensive in doing so. I agree with your point 100%. Just maybe tone it down a notch if you want it to come across better.
Not always. I've seen some use that as a shield. IE they'll say fanboy nonsense then when they get called out on it. "I'm not a fanboy! I own all consoles, so I can't be."
But yeah, it would drastically limit the amount of fanboys and get them to be fans.
@krib respectfully, I think you might actually be hurting your case for xbox in the long run. saying that exclusives have to sell millions like halo and gears... Think about it, If you're on playstation, you have a multitude of options, some will sell, some won't. I doubt they expected games like puppeteer and the last guardian to pull in uncharted numbers, but they did it anyway, just need to keep sales projections and budgets in check. Sometimes like last guardian, they knowingly...
it was for what it tried to be, not so much for what it ended up being. Gotta admit, that one could have been something special.
Sorry but minor correction, MS doesn't own the sunset overdrive IP. in fact that's the reason why it's an MS exclusive. they wanted to own their new IPs after what happened with Spyro. Sony wanted to own SO and Xbox said they were fine without owning it as long as it stayed exclusive to Xbox.
Apart from that, most shocking on that list you have is mass effect. Didn't think the first one would ever be seen on anything other than an MS platform.
When has anyone ever said games don't matter, on either side? Even now when MS is at one of it's weakest points games wise, I still don't see their most hardcore fanboys saying games don't matter. Neither were PS fanboys back then. I remember a lot of "they have x amount of studios that are working on them, you'll see." Or "why don't indies count?" but I can't say I've ever heard anyone say games don't matter.
they could always turn it over to another studio and give them a crack at it. Sony did it with Uncharted on vita and they did great (apart from the forced touchscreen stuff coming off as gimmicky). Or even just give halo a rest for one cycle, ie do a new Ip then come back to halo.
I dunno. MS seems to always be leaving me with a "I wonder what could have been" mindset. Like if they took that tomb raider money and come out with a true uncharted competitor. Or whatever b...
coming from a primarily playstation gamer, I completely agree.
That's like 2 whole weeks of cab ride in new York.
