Only way to fight them is to not use them. Once the revenue they generate dips below the cost of developing them, rest assured they’re gone. Making that happen is another story. The reason they are becoming so popular is the exact opposite; they’ve been successful at bringing in additional revenue for little upfront cost.

If you’re paying the full price for basically the lowest quality mobile port of a game already released a while back and better on other systems for the same or less money then that’s your choice. Not mine tho. And I own a Switch. I never play it tho cuz I also own a PS4 pro and an x1s and well... as consoles they are waaaay better. And I don’t really have a need for portable. I’d rather the games were just stronger and leave it.

There seems to be some incorrect assumption that games are either fun or technically proficient. As a dev you should be making fun, engaging games that also hit a technical quality mark. Not one or the other. That’s what we are paying for.

I can deal with MTs just by simply not using them. I don’t get outraged at retail shops for trying to upsell me when I’m in shopping because of course. People want you to buy things. That’s why stores and commercials and advertising exist. I can’t deal with pay to win. That’s a cheap and terrible strategy that I can’t get behind. For the record tho - most real “pay to win” games are actually free though. There actually is a difference between MTs, loot crates and pay to win.
It’s crazy to me that it has 2 million to drop and it’s still busy. That really makes a point about the numbers of exclusive v multiplatform players for a successful game. I dig it but sadly I’m one of those people; just waiting for something else to do in the game at this point.
The pc one looks better but it’s just adding color corrections more than anything else (curves, levels, saturation etc). The textures and geometry don’t seem to be any better. Maybe there are some better lighting scenarios on cemU. Wish the switch was more powerful. The thing is, most game engines are pretty easy to scale. It’s not like you need separate studios to make versions. It’s literally not hard for them to start high and optimize down (which is almost like adjusting graphics setting on a pc - they are just doing it behind the scenes for you to make it the best they can make the system run it). Nope. I have both titles and you’re wrong. Sorry. The gameplay in forza is fantastic. The sim in GTS is Slightly more realistic than f7 but as a game f7 is just better - beyond content. It features a similar online strategy that GTS employs but then has a full, well developed career mode and several other custom a test modes after that. Everything I’ve been saying on here. You can deduce that I’m not fanboying by the fact that even they gave F7 a 9.2 and GTS a 7.5 for all the same reasons I’ve been saying. Truth. Still a worthy purchase for sure though. DLC will help it get more content so that’s good.
I agree with you,but DriveClub was still a 7 even after content. Most soul-less stripped down racer I have played since PGR (which was at least more fun).
