hardware sales always decline when people know new hardware is coming. it also explains why software is rising. people want to buy games they know will be optimized to show off the new hardware. happens with consoles, computers, smartphones, tv's and everything else.

Every single game that isn’t an exclusive, performance of those games, network, features of the machine, capabilities of the machine, performance of the machine and so on. PS4 and x1 game libraries are actually more similar than different. So other factors matter. PS4 has more exclusives but so far only a fraction of them have been worth buying.
