Anyways, I'm having fun with both this and Infamous.
Blame the game journalists for that. I think they are the ones who really fan the fanboy flames.
It's a good distraction, probably not totally worth $60 bucks. I've spent most of my time with it completely ignoring the missions and just wreaking havoc. Not bad, but could have used a little more work.
I'd say a 7 is about right. I'm enjoying what I've played so far, but it's not exactly a polished game. I'm happy with it but I think a lot of people expect more out of games these days, especially after Infamous.
Seems unlikely since Kojima isn't involved.
I dunno about the graphics comments. Not that it matters a whole lot but they were a little rough imo.

Technically, it looks terrible, but I don't really mind. Sometimes a solid "B" game is totally cool with me. I picked it up today and have enjoyed the dumb, mindless fun. It may not be Infamous, but it's good stuff (if maybe a little simple).

I loved Infamous, pure awesomeness and well deserving of all the high scores. But a 7.5 for Prototype is more than enough for me to buy it, it looks like a lot of fun to me. Gonna pick it up today methinks.

He's talking about changing what makes Metal Gear unique. It's the crazy story and presentation that make it my favorite game series. I know that without those elements I wouldn't be as big of a fan.
I find it strange though, that he says the story got convoluted starting at MGS3. Really? I mean it was probably the most straightforward in my opinion. Especially coming out after MGS2, which was, as much as I love it, notoriously confusing.
