the arena system is taking hints from wow, which should help to weed out people who've taken a break from the game. Nothing is as frustrating as entering team-slayer being a 45-50 when you haven't played for 3 months, then going up against some of the best, then everyone screaming at you for sucking.
hopefully there will be some interesting perks for leaders in the arena section too. A custom colour scheme or armor, like golds/silvers/bronze, or flaming helmets/recon or would be ...

Sony's so far in the future they've gone to 1998 to get ideas for their motion controller...
~15% of the power.
well.
I guess you could pull a black and white to select and cast spells, ie draw a motion with your hadn, like an X or O or ♥, ▲, ■, etc.
Pressing a button can be as simple as making a fist, same goes for firing a weapon.
menu selection can be determined by which hand is moving to select something. Right hand controls in game left hand to select items.
But you could also just use the 360 controller too. The difference between natal and move...
I would hate to try it with any motion controller.
The developer at santa monica studio is claiming that people are providing false information, this reviewer is just backing up his claim that the game can be beaten in 8 hours. My guess is that's what it'd take you on your second run, while skipping a lot of the exploration, and already knowing the puzzles.
People are getting really pissy over this for no reason. It's not like it's a problem. If anything this is a sign of good journalism, a reviewer backing up his claims is a goo...
A mixed score is like too human, haze, lair, or even heavy rain, where marks are fluctuating between 5.0-10's.
I can't think of a single goty title that got all perfect 9-10 marks, even LBP got a 7.5 from somewhere I think.
By staying exclusive they get more exposure then if they were to go multiplatform. If they go multiplatform they'd loose a lot of their fanbase and a quickly become another face in the crowed.
That's just my opinion.
the largest known 'playstation' games have been multiplatform, final fantasy, grand theft auto, mgs (excluding 4), hence why sony is trying soooo hard to develop kratos and drake into new icons.
Microsoft has it's icons. Viva for children, forza for racing fans, halo for fps, gears for tps, fable for rpg, rareware etc.
Sony has kratos and drake. And that's it.
Also, i don't see a single game you mentioned as groundbraking as halo and forza. LBP is the ...
what do you call fable, forza, project gotham racing, viva pinata, banjo kazooie, gears of war, crackdown, mass effect, etc?
they're making a halo game that looks like halo, I'm shocked /s.
we're talking about hardware tessellation, not software tessellation.
Any cpu/gpu can do tessellation, the problem is that without a dedicated hardware workaround it eats up waaaay to much processing power.
as long as sony and MS are making money, they don't need to be worried about anything.
Nintendo on the other hand should be worried about sullying their name by catering more and more to the casual crowed. Remember it's the hardcore that bought the wii first, and it was the hardcore who introduced it to the casual crowd.
The tessellation in the water looks great, halo 3 had some amazing water and halo reach looks even more impressive. It'll be nice to see when all the effects and sprites are in to show splashing and stuff.
This doesn't neccessarily mean that they are creating a new marathon game. I could just be bungie filing for trademark to the game.
More interesting is bungie aerospace.
considering both HAVok and the project offset team are owned by intel, it'd be kinda pointless not to use havok on the game...
I feel like a 12 year old when playing games like killzone and gears, mainly because the dialog revolves around vulgar dialog and poorly scripted stories.
Halo is one of the few mature feeling games out there because it doesn't attempt to be overly bloody, overly violent and overly vulgar.
And people stick to good games, children if anything are likely to move on faster, hence why they develop more fads in a given time that a similar adult population.
it'd still get good scores for featuring such robust online features, and having really balanced multiplayer. The singleplayer, well, how can we argue for or against it since we havn't actually played or seen anything from it. As for the innovation, we've seen what? 2 trailers and a vid doc. Bungie keeps things secret, and they always blow us away in the end.
Hell, halo 3 could re-release today and it'd still have more online features then 90% of online games out there.
<...
so just ignore, marathon and myth then.
PS, oni was only half done by bungie, they never got the chance to complete the game before being purchased by MS, the game was completed under R*.

if the Move is just a wii too, then what's the wii? the le-stick 2, the sidewinder 2? If you're not the original you have no right calling anythi...
