And from this point on till eternity Nintendo learned that it can recover from nearly any catastrophy by making both a top-notch Zelda and Mario game. The future from Nintendo is going to be exciting. (Buy up those stocks.)
Thinking Switch and Mario will be the biggest gift of the season. Probably even a thousand dollars on eBay due to being sold out every where.
Smurf, I was thinking the same thing. There was zero ways I was going to take a chance on being forced to wait until March or April to play this Haley's Comet edition of Mario. I'd say in another week to two weeks the hype will be so loud parents will be stripping shelves for top-wanted presents to put under the ol' neon-laced pine tree.
Yeah, I almost didn't put the DLC on there—but, shoot, there really aren't any heavy hitting exclusives landing this holiday aside from Super Mario Odyssey. And anyways, The Frozen Wilds is going to sell like crazy—that's really the only competition (and I use the term loosely) Mario is going to have except MAYBE Call of Shooty WWII and Assassin's Creed. Though, the micro transactions is turning droves of gamers away from Creed, and Call of Duty is Dull and Doody.
@BQ32—
Some (very few) things in life 'you just know.' This is becoming one of them.
Here, here—remixx116. Preach it.
@adonisisfree—
You must not come around here much—I'm a devout PlayStation promoter. I just know quality when I see it, and pay respect when a company has earned it. Highly suggested way to be. Maybe worth your time to adopt the habit.
As someone who played Super Mario 64 hours upon hours upon release, this is the first time I've felt like a Mario game was going to capture, and exceed the magic and wonder of the first 3D offering.
I wouldn't really consider them developers—more like master artists. Mario and Zelda games both transcend the often-times gritty, stiff feel of many AAA titles. It's as if the more 'real' developers try to make a game the less magic comes across the screen. Plenty of magic from Mario/Zelda.
Top-selling Exclusives This Holiday?
Super Mario Odyssey
Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds (DLC)
Dang, am I forgetting any?
It's cool, Microsoft—XBOX One gamers don't need any new 8/10 or 9/10 rated exclusives or anything. Just a five hundred dollar knick-knack is good enough.
Would had thought it would remain in the game (for those initial millions of XBOX One purchasers forced to have one) until the next generation console cycle.
Yes, games that have been out for years and mostly get shuffled into the bargain bins. (You know it's sad whenever either, a.) an XBOX fan has made multiple N4G accounts to try and overwhelm the negative N4G votes, or b.) paid Microsoft employees are doing so.)
Tempted to cancel my pre-order.
Looking good.
How about if Atari decides to make a console that directly competes with the upcoming PS5 and XBOX Two? I think some gamers would be willing to take a break from the 'big two' (or at least supplement one/both) as long as the experience included as many third-party, whatever then-gen titles there would be.
(EDIT: Yeah—I know. Ataribox is going to be a mid-range PC that also plays Atari games. I was simply painting a possible route to success.)
Atari's argument that the reason Steam Boxes failed was due to allowing so many manufacturers the ability to make a version, is ludicrous. Didn't seem to hurt Android.
This will become nothing much more than an interesting side-point in the history of the video game industry—that's really all it is even now.
Impressive if even one-out-ten player's have gotten all the Legendary weapons and gear and all the trophies already. That would be included in everything. Heck, for that matter I bet one of ten haven't even done that with the first Destiny.
Don't know what to tell you folks—I've played Destiny 2 on both consoles, within seconds of each other, and there is one hundred percent, bet your black (down-voting-for-all-the-wrong -reasons-when-you-could-had-jus t-commented-with-a-correction) souls an increase in frame rate. Now, this was when the game first landed, so I don't know if it still has this increased frame rate.
Initial download is eleven gigabytes—full game fifty-six. (I despise when something like two numbers are used as-and-to-link to a 'story.')
